During certain days/hours, you can visit the Venice Area Audubon Society and look through information on upcoming events. The Rookery is always a big draw, especially during egg hatching time.

We enjoyed walking around the small lake and seeing all the birds on the island in the middle. A local told us to get there, just as the sun was setting, and watch all the birds fly in to roost for the night.

Interesting to watch the birds come in near sundown - not a place I would recommend for the kids. I can be talked into going occasionaly but do not feel the need to go regularly.

There are three or four species raising their chicks now and they are still in their breeding plumage. Easy place to get some awesome pictures! The Venice Audubon Society does a first class job of everything they do. Lots of bird outings!

We are renters ourselves, so we do not have anything available. I would suggest trying some of the real estate companies in Venice.
