Visiting Tampa, this was recommended to me by a local. So glad it was. A great experience to explore nature a short drive from downtown Tampa. Friendly staff, good equipment. I went on a Monday and there only saw a couple of other groups during the peaceful 3 hours on the river. No bugs! Family friendly. Highly recommended.

We canoed Trips 1 and 2, each about 4.5 miles and 2 hours in length, with a 20 minute lunch stop. Lots of alligators, turtles and a huge number and variety of birds. We saw more wildlife during the first half of our trip. The second half was a little more challenging, with some 90 degree bends and current to... More

Took the 2/ 2 and a half hour trip downstream. Canoes are maintained well, the helpers really make sure you understand the route/ if you have any questions. They also give you tips if you are rusty/ need assistance. That being said, my significant other and I are pretty easy going/ enjoy nature so we loved it. Guide said, as... More

We went canoeing with an out of town family member so he could see an alligator. The storms were supposed to come in around 4:00. They told us our pick up time would be 3:30. I laughed and told them as long as they did not leave us in the rain. I was concerned about seeing alligators since it was... More

Beautiful canoe trip on the Hillsbourgh River. Very relaxing and saw 25+ alligators and 100+ turtles. The staff at Canoe Escape were awesome and so helpful. Hunter was great!! Would highly recommend this outfitter and experience. It is a must do every time we are visiting the area!

We gone on several Canoe Escape trips and they never disappoint. This trip we had the master of the river, Joe Faulk guiding us and he opened our eyes to new facts and wonders of the Hillsborough River. Don't worry if it is a little chilly. Seriously, the water was crystal clear, we saw several different types of fish, beautiful... More

Our daughter has rented kayaks with Canoe Escape in the past and we all decided to go back today while visiting Tampa from California. It was a great, great day. The large number of alligators (50?), the vast amount of different species of birds, the amazing turtles, the fish.... made for a very exciting 4.5 mile trip from Sergeant Park... More

We've done this activity twice, more than a decade apart. As much fun as it was the first time, it was even better this time around. Yes, it's a basic canoe float down a small river, but the staff and service are great, topped only by the experience. You see a ton of wildlife (birds, fish, alligators, turtles), have fun... More

Take your time. Don't rush, take an extra hour longer. We had some issues with having to pick other ways, so we had to paddle back and try other routes. On the way we saw alligators, birds and turtles! Be prepared to be wet! you never know if you are going to tip just a little bit.
