Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My wife and I are Catholic, and I love to attend daily Mass. We were in town visiting and checked out downtown Tampa. We got to attend 12pm noon Mass here, and thought this was an absolutely beautiful church. It is still nice to attend Mass whilen on vacation, even on a week day. Beautiful architecture.

Sacred Heart Church is just pure art. Built in the late 1800's and very well maintained. The skyscrapers of downtown Tampa have shot up around it but cannot touch it's grandeur. The architect was Nicholas J. Clayton of Galveston, TX, who designed many Roman Catholic Churches in Texas and throughout the southern U.S. The granite and marble structure includes a 135 foot dome, solid oak pews and doors, porcelain tiles, and a Carrara marble altar. Its 70 stained glass windows were designed and manufactured by Franz Mayer & Co. of Munich, Germany and are spectacular. If you're in the area it's definitely worth checking out.

I went to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Sunday Mass during my stay in Tampa. I thought it was quite lovely. The first thing Father had asked was to look around and introduce yourself to the people around you. That was so nice. Mass was very enjoyable. Father talked and everybody really listened. I was very happy that I attended this church. It wasn't over crowded (that could be good or bad) but i got a seat early and really enjoyed looking at the architecture and stained glass and statues before mass started. It wasn't hard to get in and out of either. I ubered there and my driver got right in and out.

Sacred Heart is a must see. Step inside the great front doors of this place of quietness, peace and tranquility and you will find peace and rest from the noise and fumes of traffic, from the hustle and bustle of a City that, although beautiful in its own way, yet is full of an atmosphere from which you need to escape to pull mind, heart and soul together. The interior will fil you with a sense of beauty and heart that is so rare to find in the city when you are feeling the strains of the day.

If you are in downtown Tampa it is worth making the stop by to check out the oldest Catholic church in Tampa. Located near the Federal building on Florida Avenue.

The church has 70 stained glass windows, but the 17 vertical windows lining the nave, anchoring each side of the transept and rimming the apse, are the most dramatic. All were made in the late 1800s by Franz Mayer Co. of Munich, Germany, which is still in business. It's worth taking the few moments to enjoy the grand work.

They also have a gift shop if you are interested in purchasing religious items.

It is beautiful in the outside, but even more beautiful in the inside (it seems like a piece of art). The priest is really nice. I think it is my favorite church in Tampa

The detail and artwork in this church will make you feel like you are in a European Cathedral! While we attend a local church on a weekly basis, we attend Christmas Eve services here every year. The sanctuary is decorated beautifully!
