Have been to the museum on two occasions and each experience was quite different. The first time was after it first opened and it surprised me at how well everything has been pulled together. The second time I took my father and aunt. My father being an ex military man really enjoyed the World War II exhibit unfortunately there was... More

We really enjoyed our visit to Tampa Bay Historical Center. It was very interesting to learn the details of Florida's history. The museum was very technologically advanced. We enjoyed watching the movie in the freight truck and sitting on the horse saddles for another movie. Very creative. We also enjoyed the Blues Exhibit.

An interesting and thorough history of the Tampa Bay area from the time of European arrival to cultural artifacts of the very recent past. Even the cafeteria (excellent food) offered a menu of historical local cuisine. I just got a bit annoyed that Native Americans were presented as saints and staunch environmentalists while Europeans were totally evil. Ignored were the... More

The architecture is wonderful. The exhibits are appropriate for ages 4 and up. Since most Floridians are transplants, this is a great place to learn the social studies we missed. The docents are very enthusiastic. The visiting exhibits terrific

I was disappointed by our new(ish) museum, as it didn't focus on the history of Tampa nearly as much as I had hoped. There was an entire main floor, and not one but three shows (one seriously animatronic) dedicated to making us feel bad for being white. Essentially it was a lot of lip-service and conjecture about how bad European... More

Very interesting history presented by exhibits & excellent short films. Informative. Right on Riverwalk. Columbia restaurant located inside the building is excellent.

The History Center is a great way to spend the morning. The exhibits are interactive. The city has a great history. At the end you can eat at the "Columbia Restaurant" located in the lobby. On the river walk if you have time to see more.

It was a gorgeous day and I was walking along the Riverwalk. I wanted to get a feel for the rich history of the Tampa Bay. I have about a 45 minute limit for indoor stuff like a museum on a beautiful day, so I took a chance on the Tampa Bay History Center. **Good choice.** --The museum has a... More

A visit to this museum should have two reasons. The first is to view and wonder at all the displays on the history of Tampa and the area. A lot of work and effort has gone into making the displays good and full of information. The second reason to visit is the food at the museum version of the Columbia... More
