We took a ride from ricks on the river for the sunset view over the bsy. The most calm beautiful night. Best way to see the city with bridges lit after dark.

One of my favorite parks in Hillsborough County. The trails are clean and well-maintained. We even saw alligators and several types of birds while walking along the river. I would recommend the winter and early spring, late fall for the best time.As a native Floridian,...More

Great adventure option to go Kayaking or Canoing on the Hillsborough river and specially in November time frame you will see a lot of Alligators which makes your trip unforgetable! You get the feeling that you are alone in a Jungle!

It has taken a long time but downtown Tampa's Riverwalk is almost completed ... the section under the Kennedy Bridge and behind the two hotels is the major area to finish. The use of informative signs, good maps, and statues of Tampa's pioneers give the...More

This is well worth the drive to go over and canoe down the river and back. You can take a nice slow pace and see all kinds of wildlife. The trees give you a good amount of shade and there are plenty of picnic tables...More

I have only visited the urban section of the Hillsborough River so cannot comment on the more rural parts. The walk is particularly recommended early or late in the day because the intense sunlight reflected off the white stone and concrete surfaces can heat up...More

There are no boat rentals on the river. You can rent a canoe at the Hillsborough State Park. The most fun would be a canoe or kayak trip from the park down to USF.

Hi, dogs are allowed on a lease. There are several camp sites. I would recommend spring or fall. Summers are crowded and very humid and hot. Lots of insects. Winter is good too but it can get cold.
