The Florida Aquarium is a rather nice aquarium located at the port of Tampa Bay. Right off the bat we received a AAA membership discount. The first exhibit we visited was located in the large glass bubble visible from outside. It houses exotic birds, river otters, and alligators. There is also an exhibit located above that featuring chameleons, geckos, and... More

The aquarium is perhaps on the small side, but it is very well laid out, well maintained, and with some very interesting tanks and fish on display. I am not sure what I expected, but this definitely exceeded my expectations. We spend about 2 hours here and I was very happy with the experience and would certainly recommend this aquarium.

While there were many fish, I found this to be a very small crowded aquarium. I expected an aquarium near The Gulf of Mexico to be on a grander scale than those in inland Tennessee or Kentucky, but those were far superior. The cost was somewhat reasonable but It took less than an hour to go through. If the dolphin... More

As a solo traveler for this excursion I figured a Thursday morning would be a perfect time to see the aquarium. I purchased my tickets online (as there is a discount on pricing) and made my way there. Although I know aquariums are designed with children in mind I did not expect the amount of school trips that would be... More

We have four kids 4-11 years old. They all enjoyed the aquarium. However I found the parking to to confusing especially driving a larger SUV. Glad we went.

A lot of Florida fish to see. There are many small displays, that have neat fish and other aquatic animals to see.

Nice aquarium (so much better than Clearwater Aquarium!!). Great exhibits, cool layout, & nice location. Great touch pools for stingrays and sharks (not dangerous for kids), excellent staff that was kind & knowledgeable, and an amazing deal with the Tampa City Pass (tickets for Busch Gardens, MOSI, Florida Aquarium & Lowry Park Zoo for only $99!! That's less than a... More

We took our 2.5 year old grandson and he was mesmerized by all there was to see. They have 2 petting tanks: one for cobra sharks and one for stingrays. The large fish tanks had a variety of fish, including sharks. There were individual exhibits for the smaller fish at just the right height for a toddler. Unfortunately, the splash... More

The aquarium is nicely designed to showcase not only aquatic creatures, but also a wide variety of other animals. The exhibits are divided into 5 categories - Wetlands (primarily Florida fauna), Bays and Beaches, Coral Reef, Oceans, and Journey to Madagascar. There is a trail that winds through all exhibits that is easy to follow and generally accessible. The only... More
