If you are in downtown you should see and tour the capital, hopefully with a guide. Ours was excellent and they explained everything about the building from then to now.

There was Tallahassee nd Florida history but I particularly enjoyed the legal history of several major cases based in Florida. There was a small section with great details of the Al Gore/George W. election decided by Florida

The people are friendly and it is a great place to learn about Florida's history. The main video seemed a little dated but was still worth the 8 minutes. A must do if you are in Tallahassee!

Visit the museum in the old historic Capitol and then walk across to the new Capitol Building and ride the elevator to the top for a terrific view of Tallahassee and Leon County. It's free.

Depending on your level of interest, you view everything in at least 2 hours! This is if you stop and look at the displays and read the stories!
