Son and grandson here from Mobile. Took them to see locks for first time even though we had been through many times on our boat. We were lucky enough to see two boats go through - being raised to canal level and lowered to river...More

This is a US Army Corps of Engineers campground. It is small; 9 RV sites, 8 Boat sites and 3 tent sites. It is only 5 minutes from I-95 yet you feel like you are 100 miles from everything. The campground is clean and friendly....More

Very informative attendant who really seemed to love her job. She explained how the locks worked and how the recent weather was affecting them.

While staying with cousins in Stuart, Florida I walk to the St. Lucie Lock and Dam almost every afternoon. It´s fun to watch the boats pass through the locks on their way between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico via the Okeechobee Waterway....More

The campground is not huge but is kept up very well and has a great view of the boats coming through the intercoastal on the east end. We were looking for a place to hang out for a few days after visiting the Florida Keys...More

I have been here several times, usually with guests from out of town or on field trips with children when my kids were younger. Many people have never seen how a lock works and it is very interesting if you enjoy understanding how things work.

This is one of the nicest campgrounds we have ever camped. Quiet, peaceful, not a place for children as it is basically limited activities. Only real bad part is the snowbirds take it over in the winter making it very hard for Floridians to get...More
