I paddled the run twice with family members this visit - didn’t swim in the spring. The stream is shaded and narrow for most of the 8 miles to the take out (also well maintained). The water is clear and cool. It’s a forgiving stream...More

This river is crystal clear, shallow, and narrow. It requires lots of steering within tight foliage. The river has a nice launch and parking area. It gets lots of traffic.

I can't tell you how much my family and I loved this run. Sure there are twist and turns, but all manageable. I had my 16 and 12 year old boys with us, (who only usually kayak with us maybe twice a year), and they...More

One of the best paddle trips I have ever been on, and that is a long list. Paddling is definitely not a beginner friendly stream, but a ton of skill is not needed. If new to paddling, plan on getting wet. Trip took us 2.5...More

We consider ourselves experienced with canoes and kayaks. We kayaked at Silver Springs State Park and LOVED it. We found Juniper Creek at the Juniper Springs Recreation Area to be more work than it was worth in a 16' canoe. First, be advised the address...More

do not take your life in your hands at this forgotten creek for canoeing or kayaking. you will flip your boat several times and be totally exposed to mating gators!!!

Wow..the Juniper Run from Juniper Springs to the Rte. 19 bridge takeout is a 7-8 mile very technical paddle. The creek is rife with deadfall, some overhanging just a few feet above the water. Watch for the short rapids in the middle section of the...More
