This area is just a few steps away from the interstate, close to everything, but quiet and away. There are restrooms, and pleny of parking. Climb the "Florida mountain" to see for a long ways. There isn't a crowd, and the scenery is beautiful. This is a peaceful place.

What a tremendous preserve for wildlife. Bring your binoculars and slow your pace to see a plethora of bird life. Celery Fields sighting opportunities attract professional bird photographers from the region and beyond, with incredible pictures shared on the CF FB page. On our less-than-ideal chilly and windy day, we still saw a wide variety of shorebirds, some warblers, common... More

I was expecting to see more birds than I did, but it was a pleasant walk. If you want to go here, make sure you go to the official website for the detailed directions, because otherwise it is hard to find. There were many people who seem to come for the fitness training of running or riding up a steep... More

I heartily recommend walking up the hill and enjoying the fabulous view!!! The show however was on the other side of the highway!! It was around 4:00 pm when we got there. There were no birds to be seen. However I noticed a group of egrets fly over the field across the road. When we decided to leave I used... More

One of the best, safest places to get exercise with elevation changes in Sarasota. If you like nature, especially birds, it is a must to visit.

Stopped by on our way to the Big Cat Habitat. What a great place for a walk, jog. Area is well maintained and there are restrooms available.

Do some hill repeats to get the heart pumping (or bring your mountain bike), then relax at the top on one of the many benches. The Audobon Center is at the base of the hill. Love seeing the white pelicans return for the winter.

This reserve, on the outskirts of Sarasota, is easy to get to and offers a chance to see aquatic birds such as roseate spoonbills and storks up close. Unusually for this part of Florida, the reserve includes a hill, built from the spoil when the lake was dug out. From halfway up you can peer into the former celery fields,... More
