Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary provides a sanctuary "for life" for the exotic animals currently calling the sanctuary home. Our goal is to create habitats that mimic native environments and are complete with a staff that can provide daily behavioral, sensory, and manipulative enrichment which is the basis for a happy healthy animal in captivity. As we grow and open our habitat to more rescues we will provide the same excellent care while educating the public.

And two of them live here. Along with almost 50 large cats of all varieties. They also have bears, birds, tortoises and monkeys. Great petting zoo with lamas and emus that like to be petted. I also fed a white tiger, that was very cool. Love that they focus on providing a forever home for large animals that for various... More

A mini zoo that's great for kids that may be too young to take through full scale zoo; also for grand parents that don't want to do a lot of walking. There's a great exhibit of big cats, also bears. The petting zoo is also a favorite with kids, me too.

My husband and I visit the Big Hat Habitat yearly. There is time to visit the animals before and after the show. The cages are clean and the staff/volunteers are available and willing to answer all questions. Of course, the tigers are our favorite, but we enjoy the bears, chimp, and other animals.

This is one of those forgotten gems that exist around Sarasota. The habitat is dedicated to the welfare of any big cat, or bear, that needs a home. Kay and her staff do a wonderful job, and the variety of animals to be seen there makes it a wonderful place to visit and learn. The habitat is self-funding so, as... More

First class visit takes about 2 hours of your time to see all of the animals and the free show. They are actively taking in animals that need care and specialize in the wild animals during their retirement. Don't miss this in Sarasota..

We just got home from seeing Big Cat Habitat and it was better than ever. The Rosaires love these animals and treat them with love and it shows. During the show, Clayton, the big cat handler, educates the audience about the best way to help save these wonderful animals. It is a great place to learn and fun for the... More

Its small, yes, But it will only get bigger if we all keep going and donating. These people love their cats and do the best they can with the money they have. Ask yourself where else can they go? We had a great time and the show was beautiful. The cats are wonderful and my mom and I enjoyed it.... More
