Big Cat Habitat and Gulf Coast Sanctuary provides a sanctuary "for life" for the exotic animals currently calling the sanctuary home. Our goal is to create habitats that mimic native environments and are complete with a staff that can provide daily behavioral, sensory, and manipulative enrichment which is the basis for a happy healthy animal in captivity. As we grow and open our habitat to more rescues we will provide the same excellent care while educating the public.

We absolutely loved this place. There are some beautiful big cats as wells as bears, lemurs, monkeys, petting zoo, crocodiles and birds. They put on two shows, we loved the chimpanzee and big cat show. We got our picture taken with the white tiger and my daughter fed a white tiger. (on a long stick, through a fence!) A great... More

Such a wonderful place to visit while in Sarasota! From the moment you walk up to the gates, you can feel the love the staff has for these animals. And what amazing creatures they are! For a small donation ($1, $3) you can give the bears and the tigers little treats - we felt guilty leaving any one out, so... More

This was our second visit to Big Cat Habitat and it did not disappoint! They do such a phenomenal job! It's evident that they really care for the animals they rescue. It's a must see for all ages.

Had a great time. Saw bears, monkeys, birds, camels, a zebra, lions tigers, and a liger! The shows are fun! Got to feed bears! Tiger feeding is also available. Fun for the whole family!

We took our 2 young boys and arrived just after 1. Parking was easy. Prices were reasonable and it was very clear that the money went directly to caring for the animals. There were different kinds of cats, bears, a petting farm, monkeys, zebra, camels, billy goats. The big cat show was great but did run an hour long and... More

Very entertaining for kids and adults alike. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Animals were awake and playful and enjoying themselves while we wandered through the exhibits.

A very interesting visit, nice outdoor display of animals, and very special animal shows, indoors at appointed times. Monkey show was the tops!

Amazing people taking care of these animals. There are various shows where the staff tells the audience about the performing animals. Light snacks are available and in some instances there is food you can feed to some of the animals. Good place for a half day visit with the family.
