Was in Siesta Key for the week with young kids and decided to visit Mote. It is about 30 min to get to the other island but well worth it. Very friendly and helpful staff. Great exhibits in 2 buildings, and great food in restaurant.

Very well maintained and a friendly and great staff of volunteers. I tend to perfer this location over the Florida Aquarium. BTW if you're a military member, you get in free (greatly appreciated).

Visited a few times way back when, and now back in the states I have come again and it's still as great as ever. The staff/voulenteers really love what they do, and was sat and watched the sharks for awhile just relaxing. Great day trip!

$18.00 per person but well worth it. By car ,leave St Armands Circle and head for Longboat Key . Just prior to going over the causeway take a right and the Aquarium is on your right. It is well sign posted.
