We were on Anna Marie Island for a week over Thanksgiving and the water was a little cold the first couple of days, so we decided to check out the Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium. It isn't the biggest aquarium I have ever been to, but we had a lot of fun. With kids from age 8 up to 15... More

Once you get passed the bored volunteers at the front desk and map station, all the staff and volunteers obviously loved their jobs. The animals are being treated for injuries/illnesses with the intent of release whenever possible. The interaction with humans is based in respect and admiration. A very impressive organization.

Great visit for all ages. Go early to avoid crowds. Lovely aquarium with great shark teeth digging activity for younger kids (additional cost).

Fun to see manatees, river otters, sharks etc. save the manatees and otters (separate bldg) for last. Just enough to see without it feeling dragged out. All species were very active when we went the day after thanksgiving, which seemed unusual for an aquarium.

Mote Marine offers a hands-on, up close and insightful view of ocean and coastal species, their habitats and role in our ecosystem. Plus, it isn't just displays. Mote is an active, vital hub of marine research. It's a must for visitors to the Sarasota-Bradenton area and most excellent for families with young children.

The Aquarium is nice but they have a couple of offers that stand out. The nature tour by pontoon in Sarasota Bay is the best. You see properties from the water you usually won't see. The waterside is the elaborate sire. They collect marine specimens on every trip to document and study. Common to see Sea Horses, Puffer Fish, Star... More

Mote Marine is a very diverse place to spend a day enjoying the Florida sun and marine life. This is an educational experience for the whole family; and a nice venue for private parties as well. The Tiki Hut is beautiful and secluded for private family fun, we had a great time at a family birthday party and the staff... More

This is a small aquarium with a couple of touch tanks that kids love. Included is a visit to a separate tank that holds turtles, manatees and otters.
