After visiting Siesta Key we decided to try Lido beach. To start...parking was insane but it was a nice day so everyone was out. As soon as you walk through the walk way there was very little sand area so everyone was on top of each other. Couple of steps to the shoreline and there were broken sea shells all... More

this is one of these places on the tourist trail that is best avoided during busy times, but a must see if you can find a quiet time of day. we arrived as many were leaving the free parking area so had no issues getting parked up, then went for a stroll the south route was blocked by boulders with... The sand at Lido Beach is still as white and fine as ever (sea-shell base), but Sarasota, especially St. Armand Sq. shopping looks tired, worn and past its 'best-before' date. Municipal parking enforcement is a 'revenue point' for the city, making unaware tourists the primary source of extra income. No friendly advice. Signage can be ambiguous and parking enforcement officers... More

Absolutely beautiful beach, free parking, public restrooms and a good concession stand. Life guards are awesome and do a great job. I have been coming here for 10 years. I thought this was a non-smoking environment. What a shame to get all set up for a wonderful day at the beach and then the hard core smokers arrive and set... More

Excellent place to relax and enjoy the fresh air. Beautiful landscapes, and the sand is awesome. During winter the water is a bit cold but still you can enjoy it.

Bring your own chair and plan on spending some time relaxing on the beach right before the sunsets. Great place to picnic.

Such a beautiful white sandy beach, just a short walk away from St. Armands Circle. However, as you get closer to the water, the soft white sand becomes a mix of small seashells- pretty to look at, but painful to walk on. If you plan to swim here, or wade in the chilly water, be sure to wear water socks.

Few visitors (and locals) take the time to experience the au natural Lido Beach (North Lido Beach). North Lido Beach is not written about too much (because those in the know want to keep it a secret, perhaps?) Because it isn't well known, and there are no life guards, North Lido Beach is for the adventurous only. This is untouched... More

Kids loved picking up all the seashells for their sand castles. Made it a little tough for walking barefoot so bring shoes. Water gets deep fast too so don't have to walk far to get to your waist.
