Definitely get up and get to the park by the time it opens. There is a special walk you can do that is 5 miles round trip. You will see a ton of alligators that come to the sink whole. They love to sun themselves....More

Taking the large airboat tour was an excellent experience. Our tour guide knew the lake and birds and wildlife we saw. Lots of alligators on banks and in the water. Nurseries close to shore and a few large alligators cruising the lake. We saw people...More

Popped into here when leaving Sarasota. Heard about the tree canopy walk which we wanted to try out, it isn’t very long but the views from the top are amazing

Myakka River State Park is very large with lots of places to walk, ride your bike, or take a boat ride. There are places to sit but they are few and far between so if you can’t walk distances or ride for a half mile...More

When people throughout the country think of Florida, they think of sandy beaches, blue water or large, billion dollar amusement parks. Can't deny they're both Florida and I do love them, but having lived here for most of my life, and exploring all corners of...More

The floods. Love all the trails, rivers, lakes, and alligators. Took the boat ride around the lake. It’s worthwhile. Also tried a trail run but the hot weather and wetness deterred. All of the trails I tried became impassable within a mile. Great experience of...More

This was an awesome state park to visit! Saw many alligators. Ate at the cafe and also took a pontoon alligator tour which was very informative. Highly recommend the canopy walk and the bird walk!

The midday boat trip was pleasant but no wildlife in sight. Cycling was ok but it was along a park road with few animals. Not as good as we’d hoped for.

Many species of Animals. Cute gift shop with a great selection of gifts, and a small restaurant. Very reasonable prices to get in.

Four of us senior siblings visited this very large state park (admission $6/car). We enjoyed lunch followed by a boat tour on the beautiful Myakka River to see birds, turtles and alligators on the banks and in the water. We also stopped at the boardwalks...More

I think driving thru the park itself would take under 30 minutes, stopping a bit to view the gators, but if you're there and have a few, walking to the swinging bridge / canopy walk / tower would be worth it. As far as the... More
