We have been coming to Sarasota in February for at least 15 years. One of the highlights each year is trip to the beautiful Selby Botanical Gardens. It is a place of natural beauty not to be missed. The Selby often has themed shows that add to the visitors' experience. Last year specialty was orchids. This year's heavily promoted theme... More

Beautiful gardens, with an amazing collection of orchids. We were there about 2 hours to walk the gardens, go thru the "rainforest", see the exhibit and at times just sit on shaded bench to take in the water views. Every volunteer we came across was extremely friendly and eager to answer any questions. The grounds a re very nicely kept and... More

Going to the Selby Gardens is a perfect way to spend an afternoon in Sarasota. We were able to ride our bikes there and enjoyed walking the grounds. The Marc Chagall exhibit was an extra treat.

People of all ages can enjoy Selby Gardens. I saw young children playing there, and older visitors can sit on a bench and simply enjoy the sights. There are easy walking paths, paved and/or lined with crushed shells, that bring you down to the water's edge. I saw plant specimens from around the world, very rare ones, that you just... More

Nestled on the shore of Sarasota Bay...lovely views of Bay and Ringling Bridge! Gardens are so lovely and are identified with markers naming plants. Very nice restaurant on the grounds and a unique gift shop. A must for visitors!

Spent several hours enjoying the gardens and native plants. Took a tour of the mansion which was a little lack luster. Overall a real treat for anyone interested in flowers and gardens

It's a shame I've been in Sarasota for four years and never visited the gardens until now. It is such a relaxing day to stroll around the trails and see all of the interesting plants. It is quite a small botanical garden, but I like how it is directly on the water and how they integrate the natural mangroves with... More

Marie Selby Botanical Gardens has an extensive selection of plants including some gorgeous flowers. Nature photographers will find plenty of opportunities to snap some beautiful pictures. It is located on Sarasota Bay and the grounds overlook the waters. A Marc Chagall exhibit runs from February 12 through July 31. You should probably allow around two hours to see everything but... At the risk of using this already abused phrase the MSBG is a place that anyone who enjoys beauty, natural surroundings, and learning; this place is a "Must See "! I've been there twice and will return. I highly recommend taking a tour with one of the learned docents, then just relaxing at the water's edge. It's such a great... More
