This is an excellent stretch of road. It is a beautiful drive over the bay area onto Sanibel Island. To get to Sanibel, it will cost you $6.00. No discounts available (unless you are a local) and the Sunpass doesn't work. You don't have to...More

We have spent a lot of time on the causeway during the 30 years we have been going to Sanibel and I think it is a great place for a quick picnic. Pay $6, pull out chairs and food and it's a great day. I...More

Worth every penny of the $6.00 to go over the causeway. You see so many people swimming, fishing, jet Skiing, boating on both sides. It's just an awesome WELCOME TO SANIBEL AND CAPTIVA ISLAND. You don't have to pay when leaving on the causeway but...More

Quick and exciting way to enter and leave the Island. Was rebuilt a few years ago and was well paved and the booth operators were extremely courteous and welcoming

As I drove over the causeway, I could feel the stress melting away! This was our route to the Sanibel Island Beach Resort, a wonderful spot on a great shelling beach.

Six dollar toll gets you access to Sanibel or you can just use the Causeway for swimming, shell hunting, fishing or catching a boat for a charter trip. Bathroom is available about half way done the causeway, bike path if that's your game as well.

Head out to the causeway to watch the sunset. Good shelling for the kids, great views for the teens/adults. We went to the causeway to watch the sunset almost every night during our week stay on Sanibel. Beautiful sunset to the west, thunderstorms with rain...More

Love the views as we're driving over the bridge & causeway to the island. Enjoy seeing the seagulls fly along side. But always sad when we're headed the other way.

Since they built it...$6 toll on Ft Myers mainland side...naturally no toll when you leave... Before such they had a ferry to the island

I'm not sure how you would miss it since you can't go over the bridge without paying. There were two lines, one for the Sun Pass and the other for paying cash.
