Bowman's Beach is located in a secluded west facing portion of Sanibel Island. Long stretch of shells and sand and great sunsets. We road our bikes the day we visited so we didn't have to pay the high parking rates. The beach has nice bathrooms but they were closed on the day of our visit and we had to use... More

This is my favorite beach on Sanibel Island. There's plenty of parking, which can sometimes be an issue on the island. This was our first visit at this time of the year and it was not busy, which was wonderful. The beach is beautiful. We saw about a dozen stingrays on the waters edge...so of course no one was in... Convenient parking with a fee. Short walk to beach. We saw a manatee in waterway under Boardwalk before beach. Definitely bring bug spray for noseeums. Beautiful sunset. Convenient restrooms.

This a difficult one. The beach is great, the shelling good, the bird life great. Downside was being bitten by tiny bugs, access to the beach, knowing how to find the shells. Be warned that there is no public access to any beach on Sanibel or Captiva unless you walk in, which is almost impossible unless you stay right near... More

If you like walking on the beach and looking for shells Bowman's Beach is the utopia. You will have to pay to park and there are restrooms which were closed for painting when we visited. Enjoy a nice walk or just sit on the beach and relax.

This was our second time at Bowmans. This beach is perfect...always a breeze and amazing shell finds. One of the best places on the island.

no beach chairs you park far away and walk to the beach..like everywhere in Sanibel parking cost $4 per hour!!! the 2 restrooms were closed for maintenance!! I don't know why they have to work on both at the same time!?

This is one of the best beaches in the world. It literally made a top ten list at one time. The waves are a bit rough but the water is always beautiful. This is where you can get really large shells too. Watch for low tide and plan your trip around that. Be sure to bring an unbrella and sunscreen... More

A beautiful stretch of sandy/shell beach which is obviously popular for visitors for all the usual reasons - BBQ, swimming, sunbathing, walking, etc. In our case to do some birdwatching of the shore birds who were quite accustomed to human company. Not the best place to watch birds, but certainly one for the beach lovers. parking a bit pricey.

Nice facilities. Bbqs, changing area, showers, bathrooms. Beautiful white sands. Does get busy compared to other beaches I found. You have to pay to park.
