The parking was expensive and the beach was just okay. There were washrooms, barbecues, tables and some informative billboards.

The people in the Welcome centre gave us directions to this beach. Our plan was to collect seashells. There were lots of shells however most of them were of the same type. I was hoping for something different. Perhaps I didn't stay long enough? Restroom facilities and a large parking lot. There is a charge unless you have a handicap... More

We spent the day here on Dec 31st. Given it was a great weather sunny day and everyone had off, it was a bit "crowded" but not bad at all. There is plenty of room for everyone to spread out. My kids loved the water as they could go out a ways and it was still only at their waists... More

You've probably read all the reviews about shelling on this beach, and they aren't exaggerating. Piles upon piles of shells on the beach, larger ones out in the water, no apartments or condos on this beach to yuck up its natural beauty. Only downside was tight and somewhat minimal parking, but then again we were there on a pretty busy... More

This beach was accessed by driving down a short road and turning into a very large parking lot. Also, there is a parking fee. After parking, you then need to walk thru another big area that has picnic areas, bathrooms, open showers (for feet, rinse off), information on the grounds that you are within. Then you need to walk down... More

Bowmans Beach State Park is a beautiful place free from buildings and other development. The beach offers good restroom facilities on the way in, some information about the island and a beautiful pristine beach.

A much more "wild" beach. It is not lined with hotels, house, or condos. Great place to walk and look for shells! Also, a nice place to watch sunset in January!!

Spectacular shells in abundance, a beautiful natural park with fitness trails and picnic areas. A must see and do.

Pretty beach with lots of seashells as everyone says. Though you have to walk kind of far to find the big good ones. There is a great playground for the kids and dressing area, bathrooms, showers. Parking is $4/hour but worth it I guess. Sanibel Island is adorable but we were there in January and it was so crowded. Not... More

I rode my bike there from Captiva Island. I had the beach all to myself, save one person who was taking pictures. It was 9 o'clock in the morning, very pleasant. I'm not sure about the shelling as I just took a little walk.
