My mom and I came to this beach after we researched online that many of southwest Florida's beaches were affected by the Red Tide algae bloom, and this one and Captiva island were unaffected. I found one dead bird floating in the water, and that...More

Very nice beach but need to pay for parking. Lots of shells to pick! This beach was way more crowded than the resort but the sand and the shells made it worth the trip.

This is a very nice beach. Big sandy beach for laying out or playing games. The water is beautiful and it’s a fun place to look for sea shells. It’s a bit of a walk to get to the beach from the parking lot, so...More

I'd give Bowman's a 4-star rating if the parking fee was reasonable. On all Sanibel beaches, they charge a ridiculous $5 per hour to park with a one-hour minimum. Heck, you need twenty minutes just to hike out and back at Bowman's. Once there, it's...More

You need to bring everything for this beach day! We arrived around 9:30-10 to no one in the parking lot, but by 1 pm, the lots were filled and overflowing into the roads with waiting traffic. Bring food, water, and toys as there are no...More

Great shelling location. Fishermen on the one side of the jetties, beachcombers and swimming on the other side. Nice spot to hangout after dark. Very peaceful there and not crowded.

I have to admit I was a bit disappointed in the beach. I visited Sanibel 40 years ago and remember it being absolutely gorgeous with white sand and many shells. What I saw yesterday paled in comparison. It looked just like an average beach with...More

We just briefly visited to see if it was an easily accessible beach for someone with mobility problems—and the answer is NO! A very long walk from parking to the beach—the beach itself was pretty but you have other choices that are more handicap accessible!

The WORST beach EVER! Facility wise it has bathrooms and a changing area also showers. As far as it being near everything, forget about it! You have to like hiking if you want to get to the beach. What felt like a 6 mile round...More

I did not see anywhere to rent those things. that does not mean they are not there, but I don't think so. Everyone I saw was dragging their own "stuff"
