stayed here a number of times until recently when they had a change of owners. An increase in $50/night caused us to look elsewhere. Also they did not return my email when I inquired about the price increase. It is, however, convienently close to the beach and shelling. Not so close to the main attractions of the island

The Castaways Marina us such a hidden secret that even locals do not know it is there. Except one visit and you are hooked. Small and quaint and beautiful. Ask for Captain Joey for a fishing or outer island charter. Maybe he will bring his dog too. Great fun and he really know where the fish are biting.

We stayed at the Castaways Cottages for 3 nights (closest to the marina) and went into the marina many times. The staff were very helpful and friendly. We rented kayaks and they are very clean and in good condition. There is your typical assortment of items to buy - not too much, but what you would expect at a marina.

We rented kayaks from Castaways Marina. The staff was friendly, but not very professional. The older gentleman working seemed confused on what all was needed to perform his duties, but he was very nice. The parking here was a wreck, with no clear signage or anything showing where you were or were not supposed to park. We had a tiny... More

This is a fun place to keep your boat and stay at one of the cottages right on the beach. Here you can put your boat in the water, fuel it, or even rent a canoe or a kayak.

I like stopping here and get a kayak for me and the kid. We go at low tide and see all the brown pelicans sitting on the shallow flats. We see osprey hunting for fish and flying their catch to the nests. the older guy working the marina was even helpful, he pulls the kayaks out and gets life vests... More

We drove by here to check out the cottages for rent. We have 2 toy poodles and they have dog friendly one directly on the beach. They are old Fla. but really cute.

Very competitive prices, $15/hr for a 2-person kayak. Water in the bay relatively calm - as compared to the Gulf. Nice mangroves to explore. Large variety of birds to see and plenty of fish jumping. When you leave the dock, paddle directly to your left and you will see a very small cove with a small patch of sand/shells at... More
