Periwinkle Way starts as soon as you exit the Causeway onto the Island and goes past nearly everything worthwhile on Sanibel. Lots and lots of shops (shell, souvenir, fishing charter, etc., etc.), a huge selection of bars and restaurants as well. It's hard to not drive it and be on Sanibel.

We stop in She Sells Sea Shells every time we visit Sanibel. It has a wide variety of shells and tourist souvenirs. They have local, as well as exotic, shells. Our boys especially like the selection of gator jerky. This is not a shop for small children. Shells are in low bins that are easily accessible to small hands. If... More

Periwinkle Way is the main road onto this little gem. There are many little shops, restaurants, and places to stay. It's a nice little drive to visit this island.

This is a cute store to buy shells and other tourist related items. The clerk was very friendly and the prices were reasonable.

Shopping, shopping and restaurants. There is a gas station in which we had to stop and fill up our rental car tires. There are 2 She Sells Sea Shells on this street, I preferred the one on the right has you are heading on to the island. It was bigger and had much more of a selection. You will find... More

Restaurants, shops and many beaches can be found along this road. The variety of restaurants and types of shops as well as other attractions can be found by driving (speed limit 35 and heavily enforced) along this road.

Periwinkle Way offers a wide-variety of shopping options for folks of all ages. Nestled along one of the main roads on the island, are clothing, novelty, shells, art, and jewelry stores. Parking is limited with better store access via bicycle, with several bike rental shops on the island.

The staff was very nice and they were celebrating their 40th anniversary and also gave us a couple free gifts.

This is the main drag on Sanibel Island. You get the feel your on an of the Caribbean Islands with all the tropical vegetation, palm trees and sea grapes. The speed limit is 25 mph so be aware when driving as the police mean business. There are walking and bike paths on the road so thus the reason to drive... More

This is where it all happens...as much as things happen on a quiet, narrow island with beautiful beaches! Periwinkle is the main drag, and has many shops for clothes to shells to antiques to beach gear to paddle board, wake board and bicycle rentals. There's an Ace Hardware, several banks, gas stations and a Post Office. There are several convenience... More
