This little downtown has nice shopping and stores to browse through. Plus one of the best German Restaurants in the USA. Parking is plentiful and free. Thanks

We've been visiting for 5 or 6 years once or twice per year, and have enjoyed watching the rebirth of this nice little city. It's on the shores of Lake Monroe, but there's really not much to do around the lake. First Avenue, and Sanford...More

Historic downtown. The evening I rode through just checking it out, there was some kind of activity and there were people strolling the streets, sitting on benches, the restaurants were packed and the Riverwalk was busy. Apparently, they have this type of thing at least...More

Very nice except for a cadre of homeless/mentally ill zombies roaming the area day and night. If the city had any sense (which they don't) they would have police on horses or on bikes permanently assigned to the area,

I would definitely go for one of the Historic District B&B Higgins House the hotels downtown are not very nice at all. There is a good hotel out by the mall and I-4 (Springwood Suite) but it is 4-5 miles from the Riverwalk.
