St. Petersburg Jungle Prada Site History Tour

118 reviews
The Jungle Prada Site Tour explores the last 1,000 years of Florida history at one of most important historical landmarks in Tampa Bay. Jungle Prada was the site of a Tocobaga Indian village for over 600 years, and it is generally recognized as the 1528 landing place of Panfilo de Narvaez and Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca. Discover one the best-preserved American Indian mounds in all of Florida on this 75-minute guided historical walking adventure. We will escort you to the top of the private Anderson/Narvaez mound, a 900-foot-long, 25-foot-high shell midden. This family-owned property also boasts a 3-acre, Florida-friendly waterfront garden, a small museum with archaeological artifacts from the site, and dozens of free-roaming peacocks. The tour is full of fantastic story telling. It's an immersive historical and botanical experience that should not be missed. Reservations and facemasks are required. Tours are limited to a maximum of 10 people.

The glass works were amazing and beautiful. Overall on the smaller side though and thankfully I visited when it was a slower day. (a weekday)

We paid $46 for one parent and two teens to tour and the entire experience lasted under 10 minutes. The building is large but the tour very short. Extremely disappointing after visiting Chihuly museum in Seattle. They offer that their tickets include admission to the glass blowing and modern art museums close by but those of those are free to enter. I don’t understand how this place has such high reviews from others. We laughed at what a waste of money it was considering how short the tour was.

Took the kids here after a sour visit at the Dali museum in St. Pete. Our kids had a great time here. They were amazed at the blown glass art. We went through the gallery and then watched the move - should have done the movie first.

I loved the use of colors. The intricacy of his works is amazing. This should be a must-see while in St. Petersburg.

Our reservation was for a Saturday when it happened to be raining. The glass and art collection are stunning and beautifully lighted and presented. Unfortunately, far too many people were allowed inside at the same time which detracted from the experience
