I promised my daughter that I would bring her back a load of sea shells from our trip to St. Pete's Beach in July. I picked up a lot on St. Pete's Beach, but read in one of the coupon books about Shell Key Island. So, my husband and I decided to take the 10 a.m. shuttle to the island... More

Nancy was great, have our daughter a sand dollar at the end, they were very informative and practice low impact. Plenty of shells to go around and the snorkeling was impressive, there are other choices to get you to the preserve, but these guys are the best. Watch the weather and pay attention to your surroundings

I tried this shelling company because Hubbards Marina cancelled my familys shelling excursion because there wasn’t enough people going on the tour. As a result, I looked online and found this company. I was excited because I felt like this company was more reliable and they didn’t require, so called “reservations”. The night before the tour, I had everything packed... More

Jessica - All of our printed advertising, web site advertising and phone messages state that "Schedule may vary, please call to confirm." The reason for that is that we are running a boat business that is subject to weather changes throughout the day -- every day. I am sorry that you did not read the notation on our website, but... At the end of our 10 day trip, we were finally able to take a trip to Shell Key this afternoon! I spoke to Nancy daily this week hoping for a break in the cycle of pop up storms. When I didn't reach her, she called back immediately with an update. We had a fast trip to the island and... More

My family took the shuttle to Shell Key and spent most of the day exploring and searching for shells. The owners provide shell bags and beach umbrellas to use on the key and they do come in handy. Between my 2 sons and I, we came back with about 25 pounds of nice shells. Recommended for sure.

Seems like most people review the island itself instead of the shuttle, which may be why it gets such high marks. This is not about the island, though - it's about the shuttle - and the shuttle itself is kind of a rip off, in my opinion. It cost our family of four, including one child fare, a whopping $96... We are a Coast Guard Certified vessel which means that we are required to have hull inspections out of the water every other year and inspections in the water every year and perform what ever equipment replacements and/or repairs the Coast Guard deems necessary. We are required to have extensive safety equipment that non-certified vessels are not required to have.... More
