Description:

Located in historic St. Augustine, Florida, Memorial Presbyterian Church is...

Located in historic St. Augustine, Florida, Memorial Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). We are not just any church. We are Florida's first Presbyterian congregation, established in 1824. CNN has named us one of the eight religious wonders in the United States. The present sanctuary was given by Henry Morrison Flagler and dedicated in 1890 as a memorial to his daughter Jenny Louise Benedict who died from complications from childbirth. Mr. Flagler, his first wife, Mary, daughter Jenny Louise and granddaughter, Marjorie, are entombed in the Flagler family mausoleum at Memorial. The church is open for visitors Monday-Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Enjoy a tour of the church by one of our trained docents during the week and then return on Sunday to join us in worship. Our visitors come from across the state, the nation, and the world.

Greatest site in the city. Lou the docent and his wife were so very informative on the church and the Flagler history. Nice place to just sit and enjoy the surroundings. Will be going back for a holiday mass and to here the organ.

Beautiful church built in 1889 as a memorial for Henry Flagler's daughter who died young. Very opulent. Beautiful inside and out. Great historical trip.

We stopped by when they were having an organ and violin concert. It was the first one of the concert season and was very beautiful. Lots of history as Mr Flagler built church in memory of his daughter who died as a baby. If you like touring beautiful churches, this is a must stop.

The story behind the building of this church is quite fascinating, involving the Flagler family. The building is very beautiful. Self guided, and there is a docent present if you have questions. Truly worth seeing.

If you love history and beautiful architecture, this is your stop. Tour the church Henry Flagler built to memorialize his daughter. Also, Flagler himself is buried here. The church is very much allive and active as a Presbyterian Church today.

This church is absolutely gorgeous. The inside is inspiring as well as lovely to look at. It would be a great place to worship. You have to see it, to appreciate it's beauty and reverence. Don't miss the inside of this church.

The church is open for tours between 11:00 and 3:30. Henry Flagler built this church for his daughter who passed away and it was completed in 361 days. Both of the trolleys have a stop at this church.

Another beautiful church for the city. It's a lot of great history, and worth a drive, walk or trolley ride by if you're into churches!
