Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I had a hotel not far from the bridge. We were able to watch it open and close from our room. Walking around the bridge, visiting it's small, park was beautiful. If you're a people watcher and like to sit by the water while doing it, this is the place for you.

The Bridge of Lions connects the old town to the beach area. It covers the inlet with big statues of lions guarding each side.

We stayed on Anastasia Island side and walked to St. Augustine. Being the weekend
of course the bridge needed to open to let several boats go by. This is an older bridge with lots of history. It is not really an attraction, but still a fun thing to see.
Watching it open was interesting as it the view of both sides while you wait. The bridge has sidewalks in both directions, for both walkers and bikers.
An enjoyable walk on a sunny day.
I am sure this is a PIA if you are driving and in a hurry. The traffic backs up quickly.

We stayed on the other side of the bridge from the fort and walked over to get our steps in. The area around both ends of the bridge had the lion statues. It was cool to look at them and there is a little park on the fort side.

We stayed on Comares Ave and I walked to downtown each day. I loved walking over the bridge. Barrier located between walking area and the road. Beautiful!

The architecture is beautiful. Large well-designed drawbridge. Can spot all sorts of neat boats as you cross the river.

Lots of people use this lovely bridge and the crowds create traffic jams. I guess the slow-moving traffic allows some time to enjoy the architecture.

It was our last night at the beach and we made one last trip in to town. We parked near the park near O.C Whites...no meter charge after 5. We enjoyed a nice walk along the sea wall...enjoyed watching the boats and the seagulls...continuing over the bridge. I was excited that as we were on the bridge the draw bridge went up. It was a free...fun thing today.

We enjoyed watching the bridge open for large boats to pass through. There is a sidewalk on each side of the road for bikes or walkers to use. If you are staying at the beach, then you will use the bridge to go into the city.
