Not trying to be mean but unless you like staring at pottery, paintings and Tiffany glass, I would take a pass. Might be better for older folks who like a slower pace but for me it took away my time and made me miss of the of the attractions I had paid for. To see all of this multi story... More

The Lightner museum is simply fascinating. It is a definite stop if you are int St Augustine. The history of the building and the incredible collections art, crystal, etc are a true expression of the immense wealth concentrated there during the era. Impressive to say the least.

The history of this museum is very interesting, but you really need to talk to the volunteers to find out the history. They are a wealth of knowledge and there isn't a whole lot of information to read about some of the collections. We spoke to a volunteer named David for almost an hour about the collections and the building... More

Our family has been visiting this museum since it opened in the '70s and still love to come here when we're in town. The museum is gearing up for a huge Downton Abbey exhibit in Fall 2017 and hopefully they will make enough money to upgrade some of the exhibits a bit, as some could use it. Still, a great... More

My husband and I went to the museum on unusual rainy day and found it very enjoyable. We especially liked the music room demonstration. The glass collection was amazing!

We thoroughly enjoyed this hotel turned museum. The collections are unbelievable to see. The archtecture is so well preserved. Definitely a MUST SEE!

The musical instrument demonstration was very interesting -- 19th and early 20th century instruments. The rest of the small collection was a bit eclectic. Typewriters, Plains Indian clothing, etc.

We love this period of time and were looking forward to seeing the museum and it's collection. We were expecting a bit more Hearst Castle vs.a run down museum with a Hodge podge of collections. The thing that continued to strike us was the lack of pride, everything was dusty and the cabinets were dirty with finger prints and smudges.... More

It was a great experience. We got to see one of the hotels that Flagler built turned into a museum. There was so much history there. So many cool and interesting artifacts and collections. We bought a Groupon so it was cheaper than paying it there.
