Once a sugar plantation owned by John Tharpe, Jamaica's largest slave and plantation owner, this impressive colonial-style estate is now an elaborate park dedicated to exploring the region's natural and cultural heritage. Good Hope Estate provides visitors with a unique perspective on Jamaican culture. In addition to the plethora of adventure activities, you will also have an opportunity to explore the grounds and facilities as well as sample and buy local products such as coffee, rum and jerk seasoning. If you're lucky, you many even get to meet resident artist and master potter David Pinto.

Nice plantation, friendly people. On our cruise, as the last minute before we boarded the bus after a long walk to it, they required us to sign a VERY onerous form signing away all our rights for any action against them. 90% of the form was hidden on a folded back page, I tried to glance at it, would have... Visited Good Hope as an excursion from our cruise ship berthed in Montego Bay and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. If there is any criticism, it is that we weren't there for long enough. The elevated views from the estate are spectacular so remember to pack the camera. The house itself is beautiful, as are the furnishings - you can imagine... More

My extended family of three adults and five children aged 12-17 had a wonderful day at ChukkaCove Good Hope plantation house and activity centre. It was one of the highlights of our Christmas holiday in Jamaica. The site is an 18 th century plantation house and outbuildings, including the ruins of an old slave hospital, on the banks of the... This 'off the beaten path' location was wonderful. The high tea provided was enjoyable. There are many water sports to do in the nearby area. The views were magnificent. This was a booked tour for me and I highly recommend it.

We toured the Great House of the Goodhope Plantation android was in awe of the history that had been maintained in this great home. Our guide was very informative, and friendly. We left these beautiful grounds with a much richer knowledge of the history of Jamaica.

My family visited the Good Hope Plantation November 22, 2016, with the younger members of our family opting for the full adventure of activities and the senior members just for the plantation and Appleton run tasting tours. We had a slight reservation mishap, but the front desk management quickly resolved our issue and had us on our way immediately. They... More

Even if you just go for the bus driver's and the tour guides jokes its an entertaining day. We booked a tour to Good Hope through our Cruise line RoyalC ... They had a lot of variety at this place, zip lines, ATV tour, we did a tour of the big house and lunch because we prefer more history to... More

We booked this from Royal Caribbean Shore Excursions as High Tea at Good Hope Plantation. and it didn't disappoint. The estate is beautiful and rich in history, the staff are wonderful and attentive as well as prepared and informative about their subjects. The buildings are well cared for and have many original items still in them. Our tour guides added... More
