Great little wildlife place. Mostly run by volunteers. Go when they are feeding the birds. They give talks. You can get up close and personal with many birds. No entrance fee, but donations are accepted to help feed the wildlife. Spent an hour wandering and watching!

Admission by donation. Spend 10 minutes or the whole day. Everyone is very friendly and they answer any question. Wildlife residents are just a few feet away for you viewing and education. I learned today that a leucistic animal more than likely was kicked out of his family because it was different than the rest and attracting attention to the... More

Free admission, run on donations by volunteers. They rehabilitate small animals and birds. Clean and interesting. Located at Ponce de Leon Beach/Park which is very nice.

Five feet rom and Eagle....one foot from a hawk....a talking blackbird! That's what you will see at this animal refuge. All the birds here have been injured and no longer bale to fly, catch predators to eat or were raised as pets. So sad. Many of these injuries were caused by man's car, man's fishing line, and more. Donation only... More

They have some amazing birds in aviaries that are either being rehabbed or can no longer be let go into the wild. Plenty of parking, picnic area, boat launch, benches overlooking the water. Tranquil!

I happened upon this little unassuming place just after returning from a fishing charter. It is obvious that the caretakers are very devoted to their mission of helping injured wildlife. The animals are very well taken care of and the exhibits are well done.

The bird center is a great educational experience whether you live here or just visit. Volunteers can tell you a variety of facts regarding all of the inhabitants. Feeding time is 2:30 and some local birds pop in for a free snack! There are two bald eagles which are magnificent to see up close as well as a variety of... More

The Center has rehabilitated (or sheltered) injured wildlife for more than a decade. Injured waterfowl; birds-of-prey; mammals; reptiles; are all housed for safekeeping, in an education-friendly environment. A wonderful opportunity to see and learn about 40-50 different species that are indigenous to South Florida. Remarkable!

This is primarily a bird sanctuary and rescue facility. Rather small with a variety of birds that are unable to return to the wild or have been rescued and are being rehabilitated to be later set free. While there is no admission fee there is a request for a donation. Most of these creatures can be readily seen in and... More

The Peace River Wildlife Center is a bird rescue/sanctuary/zoo. It is wonderfully interesting and informative and such a good program. Great for all age groups. Walking distance from beach, fishing and boardwalks through natural buffers. Something for everyone. If you go, they appreciate donations of kale for the birds and dollars for upkeep. It is one hundred percent supported by... More
