Every year that we come to the Port Charlotte - Punta Gorda I always make sure I go to the Peace River Wildlife Center. Last year I got to see their new addition Luna the little white owl. We attended the Sun Celebration last year and it was wonderful. Peace River Wildlife Center is located beside the Ponce De Lion... More

The staff really and truly care about their animals and really loved taking with visitors and showing them around. None of the staff seemed put out by questions actually they encouraged it. The view of the ocean was also a site to see. Very pretty. Has a place for picnics and taking in some rays on the sandy beach.

Small sanctuary with a wide variety of birds to view. Self guided tour for a small donation. Bald eagle, owl, misc seabirds. Enjoyable supplement to a park visit.

Great little place to learn all about the different birds here in FL. Volunteer staff very knowledgable! Gives you a very close up look at eagles, pelicans, hawks, egrets, etc. Definitely a great place to take the whole family to!

When we visited this center we learned there mission is actually to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured wildlife. They ask for a small donation to enter which is well worth it. They have lots of different birds in many phases of rehabilitation and some that due to their injuries will remain permanent residents. Since we live in this area they... More

Nice place to take the family. Plenty of seating for those who can't stand very long. Clean well cared for wildlife, mostly rehabbing birds. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, and very friendly. Does not take long to walk through. Donation requested.

This wildlife rehabilitation center houses mostly birds. It is informative, well organized and a pleasure to visit. The volunteers can turn anyone into a bird lover. The owls were spectacular! Lots of close up photo ops. We loved it!

We live here and it's the first place we take our out of town visitors. . There are always eagles, owls and lots of pelicans to view. At the Sunset Celebration you can see Luna, the tiny screech owl with some of the staff. The rescued wildlife is not limited to birds but at various times you may see an... More

Super great work being done here in caring for all the injured or displaced wildlife of SW Florida. Have wonderfully cared for "resident" animals that are easy to view and learn about. The staff which is mainly volunteer does a great job. This is a very small center but worth a stop off if your time permits. They feed around... More
