We toured the museum and really enjoyed learning about Florida and the Constitution Convention that worked to help the area become a United State. Lots of reading and many examples of objects around the area in the 1800’s. Price is $2 per person.

While this museum purports to be about the Constitutional Convention, there is plenty of other history highlighted. Mostly there are things to read, without a whole lot of displays. As a history buff, I found it very interesting. I would not think most children would...More

We enjoyed our visit. The volunteer was very knowledgeable of the area history. He took time to answer our questions and he pointed out things we might have missed. All in all it was a very pleasant visit.

Driving along the Forgotten Coast, we saw the State signs for the Florida Constitutional Convention site. An interesting collection of items related to early Florida--and docents eager to tell you all about them. Very friendly!

Florida was acquired by the United States from Spain in 1821. But in order to become a full-fledged state, Florida needed a constitution. The town of St. Joseph, later renamed, Port St. Joe, had enough influential people to get Florida's constitutional convention held in their...More

We stumbled upon this park while exploring the Port St. Joe area, not realizing until we read the monument that Florida's constitution was written in this area. The park is very simple, just a large piece of property, lined with very mature trees that lead...More
