We drove in from Louisiana for the opportunity to go backcountry camping on the beach. Once we finally found a good spot to set up, we had a peaceful time on what felt like our own private beach. At sunset we lit a campfire, and had an incredible evening. What seriously detracted from the beach was the amount of people... More

We purchased a year pass and will probably not be renewing this time. The last 3 or 4 trips we have noticed a lot of people fishing. I know there is nothing wrong with fishing, but when one person has 5 poles and has them spaced out 10-15 feet, that is taking up quite a bit of beach. Now add... More

This is a great beach, Dunes, privacy, Fighter Jets and heli's fly over occasionally --awesome!! I've found some amazing shells here as well. Certain times of the year on a clear night you can look up and see the milky-way. You can build a fire at night in the sand and camp past the sign a little ways down the... More

A day at Johnson's Beach is like a vacation. There is the nature walk, the beach with its endless beautiful white sand. The lifeguards are always friendly and ready to help.

My wife and I love to go to this beach. You can swim, sunbath, fish or just relax. The sand and water are so clean and great to spend the whole day on.

The public beaches are great in the Perdido area. However, this is a National Park with miles of unobstructed views in each direction. If you don't want the view of backs of dozens of condos, check this quiet place out. There is a small fee. However, we obtained a National Park permit (being over 60) from our local chamber of... Beautiful beach. Water a little too rough to swim today but so very relaxing laying in the sun listening to the sound of waves rolling in. Lots of small shells and tiny sand dollars having washed freshly ashore. Sand dunes and preservation is showing its beauty; although not what they used to be before hurricane Ivan, these dunes are coming... More

This is such a beautiful beach. It has pure white sand and sometimes green water. There are plenty of places to park and walk to the beach. It is easy to find a secluded spot to get away. We hope that it never becomes crowded and we are glad there is a charge to enter the beach area. We would... More

Johnson Beach is a great place to walk and escape the crowds. Lots of shelling and great for flying a kite.
