We booked this trip really not knowing what to expect. Captain Alex was amazing and super professional. He was able show us a super fun time. Captain Alex was able to answer all of our questions. He was able to place the boat in to the right place to be able to see and swim with the Dolphins. Captain Alex was amazing with my granddaughter that is 4 with showing her things and helping her and everyone else in and out of the water. He didn't waste any of our 2 hour tour on nonsense. Highly recommend this company and highly recommend asking for Captain Alex as your tour Captain.

This was our second time taking a dolphin tour with them. This time was without the kids for our anniversary. Alex was our captain. He did a fantastic job. Super friendly and knowledgeable. He was also very conscientious of the dolphins, not just where to find them but was very careful when around them. They move fast but you could tell he wanted to make sure they didn’t get harmed by the boat.
He had great suggestions on food and places to go depending on the area you wanted to be in and what type of dinning you wanted. Pointed out several neat things in the area as we went by them. This is twice now and this company never disappoints. Was a great trip and reasonably price. Would definitely recommend them to any of our friends.

There were some good things and not so good on this tour. Our captain did a great job trying to find dolphins, they just were bashful that day I guess. Not our captains fault, again, he did a great job trying to find them, and we did see 1!
The disappointing part was that the snorkeling was not guided. We were not shown sea life or how to find anything. We were let out at shell island to snorkel where everyone else from the beach was…nothing special…and our captain jumped in the water and took off to go spear fishing, leaving all of us in the water.
I would not book this excursion again unfortunately

We took the one hour, Swim With Dolphins trip ($30 ea). Captain Matt met us at the dock and from there on, the trip could not have been better. He constantly positioned the boat near the dolphins for pictures and provided ample opportunities to swim with the dolphins. On the trip back, we had a quick tour of a sunken ship in shallow water and again was offered the opportunity to snorkel the ship (I think this is not part of the trip, so thanks Capt Matt!). The captain was just as enthusiastic during the dolphin portion as we were. Great job! [Note; before the trip I jokingly asked Matt if he was making sure we had ordered up an F15 fighter flyover during the trip (I'm ex-Air Force and there's a base close by). On the way back we were actually surprised by a low flyover by 3 F22 fighters! Matt (jokingly) bragged he had sent a text on the way back and ordered up the flyover! LOL! Great trip, our expectations were exceeded. Make sure you ask for the fighter escort back to the dock! {Wink, wink}

The location for shell hunting and sea life interaction was disappointing. Only saw fish and a couple crabs. Didn't find any shells, sand dollars, sea urchins, etc. Our captain only got off the boat to talk with another captain. He did not show us how to find/see anything during our snorkeling time.
We didn't see any dolphins. Not one. And we docked 15 minutes early so our trip was cut short.
I used a different group last year and for $17 LESS we got 3 hours vs the 2 hour (1hr 45 min) with this group. I will definitely not use this group again next year.

We only spotted 2 dolphins on the tour and by the time the guide stopped the boat they were gone. What got me the most is the part where we snorkeled shell island for seashells and sea life and the guide assured us he would “help us” find both. He then found a large beautiful intact shell and exclaimed “oh this thing is gorgeous, my wife is going to love it”. I was speechless...thought we were on a trip for us not his wife?!?!

I took my two girls, ages 7 and 9 to swim with the dolphins and snorkel. If you have younger kids, I would advise not getting in Billy’s boat. I felt like maybe he was having a bad day, but he seemed a little irritated. Granted, We had ZERO experience with boats, life jackets, snorkel equipment etc., but isn’t that what he’s for. Oh, and thanks for pointing out the jelly fish to my 9 year old daughter very early in the trip and mentioning that it is a Portuguese man o war and VERY poisonous! Ummm I’m surprised she even got back in the water after that comment. I read lots of reviews where the guide got in the water and helped the snorkelers find different things. Billy just sat and played on his phone the entire time we were in the water. He also said he would post pictures he took on the Facebook page as soon as he washes off the boat. Nope. No pictures. My kids had a good time and that’s all that really matters, but next time we will use a different company.

Our trip was AMAZING!! The captain was so patient (we had 4 kids, one with Asberger's). Not only did they get to swim with the dolphins, but he took us to a place to find TONS of sand dollars!! Great trip!! Highly recommend!!

Is there a weight limit to ride and participate?
Written 27 June 2019
I am not sure but if you have Facebook they normally answer questions within the hour.
TripAdvisor won’t allow me to share the link with you but their Facebook page is Saltydogs Dolphin Tours LLC. The cover picture is of a flock of geese flying over the boat.
We had the best time and would absolutely do it again!

Our prices are $300 for a private trip in which you will have the boat to yourselves. Our non private trips are $50 per person. It's 2 hour tour of Shell Island. We will put you in the water with the dolphins. We provide masks,snorkels, life jackets, and free drinks. After we spend time with the Dolphins we will go swim and find sand dollars and sea life. The captain will get into the water with you and show you how to find these animals. He will then put them on the boat for better viewing.
