- Rose PNashville, Tennessee369 contributionsHuge fun!!Yes you will either wait in line for minimum 2hrs or open your wallet. It was a mix of opening the waller and spend on genie plus for us, with alarms set at 7am for resort guests. Paid ILL for Rise and have to do it quick before they are gone. It took 5 days before I could get Slinky Dog. But both rides are amazing!!! Rode Rise twice, older son did Tower of Terror for the first time. We all did Runaway Railway for the first time and really enjoyed it. I wish they could have kept the backlot. I had visited in the 90s and that area with the tv houses was a fav. ABC commisory’s food was very good- the boys were still talking about the buffalo grilled cheese several days later. Blown away by the fantasmic show- some sections were a bit underwhelming but overall it was stellar! We really enjoyed Hollywood- spent one full day there, then went back twice for several hours. Really neat to see the park at night.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 19 March 2023
- Nick WTell City, Indiana470 contributionsFun!This park has come a long way in a few short years. From Star Wars to Toy Story to Indiana Jones, these attractions are some of the best! Our sons (8 & 5) love the Runaway Railway, and I like Toy Story Mania. Too, the character greetings were fun too. We had a complimentary day of the Genie+ and it was helpful for the long lines on Slinky Dog Dash and the Railway as well as the Alien Saucer Spin and Mania rides. I don’t think we would have to purchase it to have a good time.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 24 March 2023
- D & JoIndianapolis, Indiana3 contributionsShowtime!Had a great experience at Hollywood Studios. The usual applies with my reviews for Disney/Orlando parks. I assume most people reading reviews are already planning on eating the high cost of tickets as well as accommodation costs. With all that aside, we went as a couple, no children. The thing we really enjoyed about this park were the shows! I can’t go on many amusement rides due to health conditions but the shows were really cool! The Indiana Jones Stuntacular is a must see! Very entertaining! Star Wars was cool too. A lot of it was from the newer movies which I don’t particularly care for but very detailed and still worth the time. One thing I did notice was if you’re planning on eating at one of the themed restaurants make reservations! Come lunch time we weren’t able to dine at one of those fine establishments. They do have venders like every other park if you want a quick grab and go. Kids would love Toy Story land as well as seeing plenty of Disney and other characters making surprise visits. Overall a really great park with plenty to do. Plan for a whole day at the park. I also suggest doing a thorough map recon with a well developed plan of action prior to stepping off. Hope you enjoy the park as much as we did! Good luck, and have fun!Visited March 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 27 March 2023
- busybee2775Brooklyn, New York162 contributionsBusiest of the 4 parksBusiest park. Period. Line for every single thing. Like everything. Perhaps also because it is a smaller of the 4 with just as many people. Just insanity. Busiest parts are Toy Story area and second to that is Star Wars. Food is better on Sunset Blvd where Tower of Terror is and it is less insane. Star Wars rides are beautifully done and the Resistance one is a must. All of Toy Story ones are delightful. Tower of Terror is just superb. Indiana Jones show is def worth it, as you get to see how the action scenes take place. Muppet show is cute. Overall, this is the one you need the Genie + and LL, as Resistance wants you to purchase LL.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 30 March 2023
- Sally62Northampton, United Kingdom5,221 contributionsBusy park but good funSo much more to see and do now that Galaxy's Edge has been built. Some big queues for rides so worth using Genie Plus for those although it does require you to be up and ready to book at 7am! Some good places to eat. My least favourite of the parks but still good fun to visit.Visited April 2022Written 31 March 2023
- Shanker BAlpharetta, Georgia1,227 contributionsThrilling day at Hollywood Studioswe had a blast at Hollywood Studios. We were staying at Disney so we had early entry. There are quite a few rides and attractions here. We are a family of 4 - our kids are 12 and 5. We got Genie + and we also go the rise of the resistance individual lightning lane. Is it a bit expensive...yes...but is it a once in a 5 year thing. Absolutely. we thought DHS has really improved. Loved Galaxy's edge - Millennium falcon, Toy Story Land and all the shows and sing along. And Fantasmic is always awesome. we spent a good 12 hours and enjoyed every bit of it.Visited April 2023Written 10 April 2023

- GTSSurreyBisley, United Kingdom1,008 contributionsGreat family day outWith a family group of 10 (aged from 2 to 72) there was something for everyone at this park. From big rides to shows (LOVED the Indiana Jones show) and light entertainment in 3D there really is something for all ages and tastes. Where ever you go in the park the drinks, ice-cream and food over priced and portions generally quite small; and there is sometimes the lack of a seat to take the weight off. That said, I wouldn't miss this place when visiting the area.Visited April 2023Written 1 May 2023
- jr2017H2OValparaiso, Indiana336 contributionsGreat Park!We had a seasoned Disney expert in our group who is also a Star Wars fan. We purposely picked what we hoped was a less crowded time (it was), we stayed at a Disney property so we got in a half hour early and we bought LL passes. So at this park our expert was able to ride all 4 of the major rides within 2 hours. We spent the rest of the time getting into other places on our second priority list. It was a great time. Plan, plan, plan! We just had a snack there as we leave parks around 3 and usually go to dinner at Disney Springs.Visited May 2023Written 27 May 2023
- Amy G14 contributionsFirst timer going. Loved itIt was clean, the online mobile ordering food was quick and simple. Star wars was nice. Only complaints, not enough water stations and not enough seating. Definitely not enough shaded areas. But it was a great day. Rise of the resistance was my favorite ride. Slinky dog dash has a 3 hour wait and I couldn't get lightening lane for it. To me this felt like a half day park. However 10/10 would recommend.Visited June 2023Travelled with familyWritten 6 June 2023

We had a great visit and if you are a str wars fan then this is a must. I could have stayed in the Star Wars section all day.
I won’t ruin any of the surprises but really enjoyed my visit.

I saw an earlier review talking about the after-hours event, and that's what I'm going to talk about as well. I was in Orlando for business and knew I wouldn't be able to get to any of the parks during the day. So when I found out that DHS was having an after hours night, I just had to sign up. And honestly, I don't think I can ever go to a Disney park any other way again!
As mentioned by the previous reviewer, Disney After Hours is a separate ticket event, and officially runs from 10 pm to 1 am. However, if you buy a ticket for this, the park will allow you in at 7:00 pm, so you are technically getting 6 hours at the park. I believe my ticket was approximately $150 and I'll say this, it was absolutely worth it.
Being able to ride major attractions that are known for 2+ hour waits with minimal to no lines (and also not having to worry about Genie+ or Lightning Lanes) was worth every penny. I walked on to Star Tours and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run, twice walked onto Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway (an absolute must see), had zero wait for Toy Story Midway Mania, had an elevator basically waiting for me at Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and sat in a Muppet theater with about 20 other people. Rise of the Resistance had a 25 minute wait, but that was at 8:00 pm, so the event hadn't officially started yet, but I figured I'll take 25 minutes over the usually insane lines this attraction gets (and by the way, even if you aren't a Star Wars fan, this is one of the most incredible ride experiences anwyhere). Again, being able to get on several headliner attractions without having to deal with virtual queues was fantastic. Rides I did have to wait for included Slinky Dog Dash (25 minutes at 10:00 pm) and oddly the Alien Swirling Saucers (15 minutes). Also during the official event hours, there were several carts set up throughout the park serving "free" popcorn, Mickey Ice Cream bars and other ice cream treats, and bottled beverages. I had 2 sodas and 2 Mickey bars since they said "unlimited" treats. I was just getting my money's worth!
Disney's Hollywood Studios has come a long way since it first opened back as a "fully functioning film studio". There are some truly world-class attractions here and if a more relaxing time at the park sounds good to you, look for when they are having the next After Hours event and treat yourself. I believe Epcot and Magic Kingdom also have this event, so next time I am in town, I will definitely be going to check those out. I'm too old to be dealing with wall-to-wall people!

We last visited the park 8 years ago. A fun filled day with a new section dedicated to Star Wars. The Indian Jones Stunt Spectacular is a must, even if you’re not a fan of Indian Jones.

We just experienced our first Hollywood Studios AFTER-HOURS event (so this review is specifically about that), and it was absolutely fantastic.
We are two adults traveling without kids, so keep that in mind.
This was honestly the best money we spent during our entire trip and this event was an EXCELLENT value for the money.
Not only were we able to walk on to every ride (except Slinky - 20 min.), this includes Rise of the Resistance, we spent lots of time wandering around the park eating the delicious popcorn and ice cream and enjoying the characters. The character watching ALONE was worth the money - Mickey and Minnie wandered freely around the park, all the characters seemed to interact and enjoy their interactions much more than usual. No one was rushed. Lines were short or non-existent.
Free popcorn, drinks, and ice cream.
We loved the rides, but to be honest, none of them felt like they would be worth the typical 1-2 hour wait, but they were all WELL worth the short wait times (the technology and artistry of the rides in this park is incredible).
We got to Hollywood Studios by 7pm, went straight to Fantasmic (worth the trip alone), then as everyone else was leaving, our night began!
We will return in the future specifically for the after-hours events at these parks!

This review is similar to another Disney park review I left. Totally NOT worth the money. We spent approx. $170 per ticket and managed to ride 5 rides the ENTIRE day. One of the rides we were most looking forward to was closed. We waited in line for over an hour at every ride. For one ride it was over 2 hours. I feel it would be beneficial to limit the number of tickets sold each day so people can actually get on more rides, but Disney's only in it for the money so they won't do that!! When you look at the park, there really is only about 8 rides in the entire park. Totally not worth the money spent.

Truly awful. What a waste of time and money. You guys used to rule the world when it comes to theme parks but are now miles off the rest of the world.
Not enough rides, not enough good rides, queues for everything were way way to long. Unless you are in a Disney hotel the lightening passes are a waste of time as all the rides you want to use them for are fully booked before you even get a chance to book.
Over $1000 for a family of five and we were done by 12pm. Could have waited until 6pm to maybe get on some rides but given there is nothing to do during that time we just left.

We are seniors and had not been Disney for 30 plus years so we were clueless. Next time we would stay at a Disney hotel to get in early and be able to get a lightening pass. We got there at 8:30 just to wait in a crowd of hundreds then could not get a pass. I went to customer relations who gave us a pass to get on Star Wars ride. Which is the only reason we came. It ended up being a fantastic day. We were able to go in everything. We suggest you get an agent to plan your trip so you buy all the right packages and passes you need. ( genie, lightening passes, restaurant reservations)

We really enjoyed being back at the studios! We have been several times and still found new adventures and opportunities for fun. This time, we went on Mickey’s Runaway Railroad. While we miss The Great Movie Ride, this was a reslly different adventure, and it’s fun for the whole family. In addition, we got to eat at The Brown Derby, which we’ve never eaten that before. The food was outstanding and worth the experience. In future, I would try to get a table outside in the lounge area. The dining room is very noisy.
One of my favorite rides, I know it’s silly, is Toy Story Mania. I love the arcade like nature, and I have not been there since that land was more fully built out. We were unable to get on Slinky Dog Dash as it’s the most popular ride in the park at this point in time so you might want to book a lightning lane for that one.
We caught two shows – Beauty and the Beast, and Frozen. I liked Beauty and the Beast because it was a capsule performance of the longer show. Complete with costumes dancing music it was wonderful. frozen had a different cake and did not follow the plot of the movie. However, it’s worth it to stay to the end, because the finale is a site to see.
We also explored the Star Wars area and we were online for Rise of the Resistance when the ride experienced technical difficulties.. We looked for a cast member afterwards and she was able to provide us with a lightning lane to ride on our next trip. In addition, we went on Smugglers Run. This ride can be very intense and I got motion sick on it but my husband absolutely loved it. So be aware of this as a possibility and plan accordingly.
We finished the night at Fantasmic and we were not disappointed. We have not seen the show in sometime and it never disappoints. If you have the option to see Fantasmic,, it’s worth the investment of time. Frequently during the year, there are two shows so check the daily schedule for options.

This park needs some quality control. Not a great experience. Disney is a money churn above all else. From the prices to the Lightning passes, none of it lends itself to guest experience unless you spend more and more money.
The gouging begins with parking—$30. Once you get in all of the premier rides are an hour and a half wait time unless you spend $24 per person for Lightning Pass and even Lightning Pass is a rip off as it is only good for 2 rides.
Wanted a hamburger, 25 minute wait and finally got a refund as they said it had to come from another kitchen Well at least I saved $15.
One of the premier rides—Aerosmith’s rock and roller coaster—closed. 1 1/2 hours to ride Mickey’s Runaway Train which was cute but nothing like I imagined. Lightning Passes really hose regular line waiters on that ride.

We are visiting Disney for the first time and are in Orlando for only two days. Blogs seem to say fast pass is not really worth it as the wait is still the same. Is this true? Also. The buying of tickets and pre booking reservations is all very confusing. I'm not sure what to buy. And how this all works. HELP ME PLEASE. 🖤

Get to HS 45-60 minutes before early entry starts. If you are staying on property you can get in earlier than the posted open time most days. Go straight to Rise if the Resistance as soon as they let you in. You can get Rise and Smugglers Run done before park opening. Plus see Galaxy's Edge pretty empty. We use the disability pass and most of the time it cut down the time but other rides it did not change anything.

You can now join the line queue for Rise of the Resistance at 7:00 AM. You do not need to be in the park. There is a second opportunity to get passes for the ride at 2:00 PM, but you must be inside Hollywood studios.
Smuggler's Run, the other ride in Star Wars land has a standby wait time that can be anywhere from 40-60 minutes. It goes fast, the queue is quite interesting.
Star Wars land is quite empty in the early evenings and is a great time to visit the area. I enjoy being there when the lights come on.
I have been to the park three times and have gotten passes all 3 times. Make sure you have everyone selected in your group and then hit the get passes as soon as it turns 7:00 AM or 2:00 PM. The passes go immediately.
Food is best ordered on the WDW app. Order on the app, next go to the restaurant and click I am here, prepare my food. There will be a short wait, you will get a message when you can pick up your food. It is a great efficient way to order food.
To take off your masks, you will need to be stationary, sitting in one spot eating your food. That spot can be anywhere, but you need to stay in that one area while your masks are off.
Enjoy Rise of the Resistance

Going in March but trying to find a one day ticket as the rest of my week is universal? Can't find them on the disney website only the multi day passes. Additionally the hotel i've booked is just south of the park, is it easy to find a transfer or just drive round to the car park?

One day passes are on the signs at entrance.
Have no idea why you are having problem. Call them.
You are too late already for any Fast Track ticket advantage.
Parking is 20 bucks.
Uber would be better.
If you are there for Rise of the Resistance you need a better plan.
