This walk is located in the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. This was previously, from August 1998 to May 2016, known as Pangani Forest Exploration Trail. The entrance is located between the Kilimanjaro Safari ride and Harambe Market. It is about a ⅓ mile trail through the various habitats of Africa. It is a paved trail with some slopes, stairs, a suspension bridge, and challenging entrances and exits. It is free, never has a wait time, and is good for all wages to walk through at your own pace. You will pass by various enclosures and habitats for all types of mammals from monkeys to hippopotami to birds. There are cast members at various locations along the trail to answer questions or provide information on the various animals throughout the trail. I enjoyed all the displays but thought the hippopotamus and the gorilla displays were the nicest. The various areas are often designed to allow people to see the animals somewhere in the habitat even when they are hiding. You can see a few of the habitats from both sides so pay attention as you are walking through the trail. Overall, a great trail that I try to visit every time that I come to the park. If you get adventurous and the opportunity you can go on Kilimanjaro Safari ride next door to this where you are driven through much larger enclosures with other animals like lions and giraffes.

Nice trail, plenty to see and do.
The gorillas were moving about a bit and seemed to be happy. The male group was the most visible and they were quite close, so we got a good look.
The guides dotted around were friendly and approachable, if we had any questions. The also posted out one or two shy animals that we would not have spotted otherwise.

Our family of two adults, an 8 year old and a 6 year old visited Disney World for two weeks holiday in October.
Even though we've been on a proper Kenyan safari and live within a few miles of an animal park, it's not often you can see gorillas. This is a brilliant opportunity.
It's great Disney invest in conservation and along with their aquarium in Epcot, really good opportunity for people to see lots of different animals.

This might’ve been our favorite part of the day. We couldn’t stop staring at all the gorillas! We must’ve been there just watching them for at least 30 mins. Was happy to see that they looked happy and healthy. All the other animals are incredible to watch too, from the Hippos to the Zebras. Definitely take some time to walk through here! You’ll find some areas with shade too.

Gorilla Falls Trail and the Maharaja Jungle Trek should not be missed when visiting Animal Kingdom. Both provide excellent opportunities to get up close views of these beautiful animals. Unlike zoos of old, Disney has done an amazing job of creating displays that allow the animals to live as close as possible to how they would in the wild. It's great to wander these trails in the afternoon taking a break from standing in yet another line for a ride. It is what makes Animal Kingdom special and more than just an amusement park.

This is an awesome place to visit inside the Animal Kingdom. Don't miss this opportunity to get very up close to huge silver back gorillas and their family members. This is about a thirty minute walk through attraction but you can take as long as you want.

Walking trail past several areas for animals. Disney does a good job to try and have a natural experience of viewing the animals. There is also a bird portion. Docents on hand to help answer questions and point out various interesting things about the animals or their behavior.

Because we had scooters there was no way we were not doing the trails today. It was so well worth it. Seeing the hippo swimming under water was so cool. Lots of animals to learn about.

This is a self-guided, walk-through Africa themed animal exhibit. The entrance is close to the exit from the Kilimanjaro Safaris and makes for a nice stroll away from the commotion of the rest of the park.

A short walking tour easily accessed after exiting Kilimanjaro safari.
We saw gorillas and a few other things, but the fish and the gorillas caught the children’s attention the most. There’s information boards and cast members on hand to give more info.
