Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very Racist! Alot of discrimination! If you're black and come with more than 2 people they will say it's a safety hazard and they cant accomadate you. The mgr could not show me any policy explaining what they were saying. I will be reaching out to corporate. The worst customer service that I have ever had in my life!

Didn’t like the way I was talked to today by a staff member and won’t be returning to this location. After going through the whole process at the front desk and gettin my ammo checked for my 12g never being ask to see my guns or informing of any restrictions on shot guns. The clown at the front with the big holes in his ears comes rushing in telling me that my 12g shock wave is not allowed and I have to put it away. I ask why he says cause he said so. I asked where does it say I can’t shoot it here and says it doesn’t I’m telling you. I say I don’t have issues at shoot straight and he says well this ain’t shoot straight and you ain’t shooting it here. I feel like I was approached aggressively and I wasn’t treated as should have especially being a monthly paying member. I feel that restrictions should be posted and communicated to costumers especially members. I will no longer go to this location but I do recommend the Ocoee one. They are all great and respectful.

Very disappointed with the employees at this range! I’m retired military 20+ years), my oldest son is a US Army Veteran, and my other son is Active Duty (18 years) Army, visiting from his Kuwait deployment.
I guess “payback” is in their menu since I challenge him to show me in the rules where it said that “Families can only use one range at a time”, regardless of the size of the group; even if we registered and pay separate”. He never did.
I don’t want to believe that the fact that we were “Hispanics” played a role on all of this, but it sure felt like it!!!
We planned a family day at this range and I called the day prior to make sure my grandson (7 years old) could shoot at the range. I was told over the phone that he could. We arrived at the range, 5 adults and my grandson. Altogether we had 10 handguns to shoot and enough rounds for a Zombie Apocalipsis. We tried to get two lanes, and the staff and the manager refused to allow us to rent two lanes although we were paying separately. The reason given to us was “Policy states only one lane per group”. We agreed to one lane just to get this “show on the road”. Once we began shooting, the manager walked in and asked us to leave because our grandson had walked inside the shooting area; he was not shooting or in a stall and he was being supervised to stay against the wall. The explanation was that we were told he could not go in that area; a misunderstanding. I immediately asked my wife to take our grandson outside and stay with him. Shortly after the manager came back again and asked us to leave all together and go to another range to shoot because we violated their “Policy”. I explained to him that it was a misunderstanding and we corrected it immediately but he would not have it. I tried explaining to him that my son was visiting on “leave” for a week from his deployment, and once again the manger just told me to go down the road to another range (can’t remember what range). I explained to him that there were two misunderstanding, theirs and ours, if he could allow us to continue to shoot, but he was not having it. He insisted we go to another range because he didn’t believe I called the day prior. I showed him my phone call log to prove that I did. At that point he agreed to “talk to the Saturday Manager” about this. But he continued to tell me that we can go to another range over and over, as if we were not welcomed their. In the managers defense he was not rude, he was just stern. On the other hand, one of the guys at the register (the one with a beard) was smirking the whole time, as if he was just enjoying the fact that we were asked to leave. How sad that this guy would show this attitude toward us, while my sons and I have put our lives on the line to protect our Country and our way of life!
I would like to ask that guy with the bearded at the register that made us feel unwanted there or leas than,, “since you made us feel like “less”, what have you done for our Country to feel more “Entitled or American then us? I bet he has done nothing but act “American”..
Being born in the USA makes you American by birth. Serving your Country earns you the respect of being a “Proud American”!

RUDE STAFF AND EXTREMELY UNSAFE ENVIRONMENT!!!
Worst gun club experience I've ever had and I've been to countless different ranges. To start with, the staff at Orlando Gun Club is extemely rude and unprofessional. They are pretentious and condescending. The staff definietly doesn't care about customer retention by the way they treat and speak to customers. I have been there multiple times and always found this to be true. The first and second times I encountered bad service and staff that are less than inviting and very cold and standoffish, I thought to myself that everyone has a bad day and chalked it up to that. But now it is unacceptable that every visit you have employees that make you not want to go back.
Unfortunately, that's not even the worst part about the experience. I have never felt so unsafe at a gun club or range in my life. I have been to many different self-policing ranges that have better saftey than The Orlando Gun Club has. To start, they allow large groups of people to stand around individual shooting stalls. While I was there shooting they had a group of 5 or 6 foreigners assigned to one lane. The shooting area isn't that large to begin with (which is probably why it is so godforsaken hot in there). It was clear that none of them had any experience shooting a firearm because they were all so giddy and giggly while shooting a target at less than 10 yards IN THE RIFLE LANE! Moreover, this group of foreigners was all over the place taking pictures and selfies. I had to turn around at least three times to make sure no one was standing in my lane because it was so crowded. Now this may not sound all that dangerous, and you're right. But the inexperience of a large group coupled with the next part provides a ridiculously unsafe environment that the Orlando Gun Club should have done something about. This next thing, in itself, is enough to make any true gun enthusiast shake their head and forego even stopping at this gun range. There was a two-some shooting group that was in the lane on the other side of me as well. These individuals looked like they brought their own guns because they had scoped rifles and semi-automatic shotguns. Both of these goofballs were wearing "zombie killer" t-shirts. That was almost comical. However, then the real terror began. While they were in the lane next to me and shooting - keep in mind we had completely different looking targets (different shape target AND they had NEON stickers) AND we were shooting at drastically different distances, I looked up after sending out a fresh and unshot target to see that the bozo's next to me had shot my target "accidentally" with a shotgun slug. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN?!? And no, I didn't accidentally mistake my shots for their shotgun slug shot because (1) I hadn't shot yet and (2) I was shooting a little .22LR and the hole was gapping. I stuck my head around the lane divider in disbelief and saw them snickering and chuckling like they thought it was funny. At any other range I've been to this action would be cause for strict removal from the grounds for unsafe handling of a firearm. But wait! There's more!!! Not only did these ja'mokes shoot the completely wrong target that wasn't even the same target and at a different distance, but throughout their time at the range they were both holding LOADED firearms outside of the lane and swinging them around nonchalantly without realizing they were endangering everyone in the shooting area had there been a misfire or accidentally pulled the trigger. They were holding them in the direction of everyone in there with the muzzle pointed at peoples chests and heads. Now I will say that The Orlando Gun Club did come and tell them to stay in the stall. However, this should have been grounds for removal had the staff even looked to notice that they weren't waiving around unloaded weapons with the actions open, but they were waiving around LOADED firearms with actions closed and ready to fire. The two brain-dead individuals listened for about a minute and were right back to taking their loaded firearms out of the shooting lane while everyone was there.
It was very clear that neither group had any firearm experience and the staff should have recognized this and either helped them out or limited their use. Whether they told the staff they had shot before is irrelevant because The Orlando Gun Club employees should have recognized the safety of all their customers was in jeopardy. I felt so unsafe and frustrated with everything that was going on around me, with a lack of care by the staff that I packed up my stuff and left - and will never return.
I strongly urge you to go to one of the many other gun clubs in Orlando and the surrounding area before you waste your time and have a bad experience at The Orlando Gun Club.

I visited the Orlando Gun Club with a friend after reading the good reviews. Upon arrival we was asked to fill in two pages of disclaimers etc and had to provide driving licenses.
After about 15 minutes of filling in the forms, we was then asked what guns we wanted to fire, I then explained that I wanted to fire the magnum and I was asked if I had ever fired one before. I was asked if I had fired one before, I said that I had fired a "Dirty Harry" gun in Vegas and plenty of other high powered guns such as the M249 SAW.
The lady refused to let me fire a magnum as she deemed I wasn't experienced enough and wanted me to start with the smallest pistol and slowly work my way up through all the guns. Clearly to make me pay through all the guns in stages to actually fire the one I wanted to in the first place.
I was left quite offended by this and the ladies patronising manner so we decided to walk out. In the end we went to Oak Ridge Gun Store, which was absolutely fantastic, great for advice and let us fire anything we wanted with no hassle.

Aearin,
I am so sorry your experience at The Orlando Gun Club was disappointing. Our priorities in running a live fire gun range are always safety first followed closely by customer service.
In order to maintain our priorities it is necessary for us to vet out all shooters before we hand them (as Dirty Harry Called It): The most powerful handgun In The World (The .44 Magnum). I truly apologize if our safety policies interfered with your ability to have a good time at The Orlando Gun Club, and I can guarantee that it had everything to do with safety and nothing to do with making money.
We would like to make it up to you if at all possible on your next trip to Orlando. Let us know how we can make this up to you in the future.

This place is full of hidden charges. I had never shot a gun before and paid $20 for a 3 minute lesson!!!! It is not safe to leave first time users on their own after 3 minutes. They heap on charges for everything and the price quoted at the beginning is not the one at the end. Complete rip off, avoid at all costs

We visited the Gun Club during our holiday due to the excellent reviews we read on Tripadvisor. However our experience was far from excellent.
We arrived at a busy time and filled in the required forms. We were asked to wait in a seating area where we could look in at other people using the range. This was all grand and we had no problem waiting but over the next hour we were completely ignored and every other group were let in ahead of us. At one point the range was completely empty but we were still ignored. We were very visible to the staff at all times but they chose to ignore us.
From what I could see the staff were too interested in
- Chatting with their shooting buddies who took precedence to walk ins
- Smoking outside the entrance (2 were doing this as we left)

Booked a package for myself and 15 year old son, first time shooting. Arrived and filled out the onscreen questions, was then asked to wait in a lounge type room, given ear protectors and eye glasses too - no interaction chat from anyone. Guy came out to take us in and guns laid out ready, no explanation about them or what they could do just told how to hold and fire. £80 each and 20 mins later we were done, literally took off ear protectors and left, again no staff interaction. The actual shooting part was pretty amazing but I wouldn’t go back to this place again....even forgot to give us our ‘free’ t shirts which were part of the package and I wouldn’t bother going back for them.

i write this on the eve of attending the gun club again this week. This is a fantastic experience particularly for those from the UK who will never get this opportunity at home. I went earlier in the week with six others including one 13 year old. The staff made us welcome from the minute we arrived and explained everything quickly and precisely. Safety is paramount and a few minutes must be spent doing the paperwork and making the necessary checks. Once done if you are an experienced shooter you can get on the range and start putting rounds down. If not, then the staff will give you an induction for a small charge. There are many hand guns and semi automatic rifles to choose from and I would suggest you choose both ranges as the difference in cost is only a couple of dollars. I spent my time on the range with my wife and she had never fired a gun before. As an experienced shooter myself we started with a .22 to get her used to the noise and the basics of pistol shooting, we worked through .38 special and numerous 9mm's and onto .40 sig and then into the rifle range to use the AR15 the civilian version of the M16, AK47 followed and then H&K MP 5 before we finished on the pistol range again. We fired over a1000 rounds with about 10 different guns and all for the same price as an entry into disney for the day. We were there for a little over 4 hours and I have to say great value for money. The teenager with us had a great time and will never forget his experience. I know guns don't do it for everyone and that many people are against them, but please remember that guns don't kill anyone, people do. I think the young lad with us has been educated and now understands that life isn't like the playstation or x box. Many thanks to the staff of orlando gun club you are all brilliant you certainly put a great big smile on an old MP's face.

Can a tourist, non-US resident nor with a US address, nor Florida Drivers Licence shoot there?
Written 13 January 2020
Yes, as long as you take original ID documents. You have more options if you are from a country that requires an ESTA, but can still use specific packages if not.
There is a PDF document on their website with more information. Unable to paste the link in my reply but you should be able to find it as below.

Hello, I am here in Orlando on vacation.
I'd like to rent a gun to use in the ranges. I read in your site something about the necessity of 2 adults. It is necessary or I can go alone?
Thanks.
Written 9 September 2018
I saw someone shooting alone, but it may have been his own gun, or maybe he was a Florida resident etc. As far as I know you need two people. If you are going alone I would get in contact with the Gun Club in advance; maybe if you have an instructor it counts as two people, but you would need to check.

Hi, Myself, the mrs and our son (20) want to give shooting a go while stateside. Other than passports, is there anything else we need? Then with a bit of tuition, pistol hire, ammo, targets etc... roughly how much would you say per person all in? When i was just googling it seemed more complex than turning up and shooting. Talk of permits, having to but a 30 day membership etc... Hope you can help.
Many thanks in advance.

Jimbtho has covered it more or less. It's very simple; take your passports and that's about it. There is a caveat on the a la carte shooting though - you need a minimum of 2 people to hire a gun.
The packages are good if you've never handled a firearm before. You get to experience a range of guns, but with full instruction on range safety and you shoot under supervision.
The a la carte shooting is more expensive, but you do get to shoot more rounds and try more guns. However, you shoot under your own supervision. You still get a safety briefing on each gun you hire, showing you how to operate it safely and what to do in case of a problem, but you are left to your own devices.
You buy ammunition by the pack, and the price varies by calibre; 9mm and .223 are the cheapest and .45 is more expensive. Targets are about $1. I shot an AR15, Glock 17, Glock 21 and a Walther PPQ. I bought a pack of ammunition for each which took me about an hour to get through all of it and the total cost was about $120. There is a one time range fee depending on whether you are shooting hand guns, rifles or both. There is a $20 fee to rent a gun, but once that is paid you can swap guns as much as you like at no extra cost.
If you're coming for an experience I recommend the package deals. You'll get everything you want from it, and it feels reassuring to have someone who knows what they are doing watching out for you.
