Nice little water park for a fun chilled out day , but bad changing facilities
It's a brilliant chilled out waterpark . So if you want thrilling rides like Wet n Wild used to offer... You won't find them hear , however the rides are still really fun ! The wave machine is actually really good and it was quite challenging swimming to the back of the pool where these were on because they are huge waves ! We rented the posher chairs for the day and it was nice to relax a little and do some easy fun water rides after a whole day theme parks the day before . The ladies changing facilities let it down , they were filthy, no toilet paper, broken showers, and It just let the park down , yes I get it's a water park , but it's Disney , in Orlando Florida ? The standard in there seemed on par with visiting a dirty ran down place.. Not Disney . I did tell staff at the park about it but they just said oh interesting... Very sub par customer service for Disney ... If they fixed this issue I would come again.

    Half day visit
Our family of two adults, an 8 year old and a 6 year old visited here for a half day during our two weeks holiday in October. We stayed at the Art of Animation resort so took a bus to Disney Springs and changed to a bus for the water park - real easy. The park is welcoming with shower and locker facilities at the entrance. We picked a sun bed and chairs to the left of the entrance so we were close to the big wave pool. Arriving at around 10:30, there were some sun beds left but mostly taken. There's loads of chairs though. As we were resort guests, we were provided with towels from the shop on arrival. The wave pool is amazing and our kids enjoyed splashing on the waves. For the strongest waves, they put on the jackets to help them float which were provided around the park and in different sizes. The water slides were split into group rides (a number of you sharing a rubber ring) and individual ones. We didn't go on the most extreme ones but all the ones we went on were good fun. The lazy river was a big hit even if you have to wade around waiting for some floats to become available. There is a splash area for younger kids but we didn't go there as our kids are older now. We felt the park was safe with plenty of staff and lifeguards around. We didn't try the food outlets as we brought a packed lunch and were only there for a half day. A worthwhile visit to break up the holiday. Enjoy!

    Lovely water park
We had a lovely day here. We were lucky enough to get a family cabana, which was worth doing for a private space, it also came with unlimited soft drinks. It is a shame that Blizzard Beach was closed as we used to love visiting both Disney water parks, I hope that they can have both parks open at the same time soon. There are some really fun attractions here, the water coaster is great fun, as well as some raft rides and body slides. It is a shame that they got rid of the shark pool as I loved this experience! As much as I love this park, I have to say that Volcano Bay has the edge over this one!

    Two thumbs up!
We recently visited Typhoon Lagoon with school aged children. We arrived at the park shortly after it opened which is recommended as it gets crowded. We quickly grabbed a couple chairs to set up our stuff after getting towels ($2 charge). We were happy they allow soft coolers so we brought water, juice boxes, snacks, to go along with our lunch purchase. The dining options were great, mobile order ahead was definitely a perk. Free ice water at various stations so bringing a reusable water bottle is also a great idea. And who doesn't leave a Disney park without a mickey ears dessert or dole whip! YUM. The park itself is well kept, lots of areas for all ages. Parking was free and easy especially if you arrive early. The wave pool and lazy river were our favorites. The slides were also a hit and the lines were not too long. Our tip would be to purchase water shoes as the concrete can get warm in the Florida sun and it made it a little more comfortable climbing stairways for the slides. An inexpensive pair would do just fine for the day. Overall, it was a great trip and even better since we were able to take advantage of Disney passholder discounted rates. We'd definitely return again!

H20 evening at Typhoon Lagoon is the best.
We went to the H20 evening at Typhoon Lagoon. It was so much fun. The crowds are much less than during the day. The lines for the water slides were much shorter. The wave pool was warm, the pavement was not hot, and the snacks of Mickey ice cream was ideal. Since evenings in Central Florida are so warm, it was very comfortable going around in a swimsuit. We can't wait to go back next year.

Most people we spoke to wouldn’t think of rope dropping a water park, but we found it was a really effective way of getting things done. Turn up about 15 minutes before they open (which still gives you a lie in as they open later anyway) and you’ll be right at the front of the queue. Save time by going in your swimwear and renting towels there, which are free for resort guests. To make things even easier, avoid taking any valuables, pay for everything with your magic band, and just leave your now small pile of belongings on a sunlounger while you get on the rides. Doing all this, we managed to ride Crush n Gusher three times back to back with no queue, and complete every ride in the park including more than one lap of the lazy river all before lunch time. Also don’t forget to bring watershoes as they will save burning your feet on the hot stone paths.

Now I'm not a fan of water parks as I don't do most of the rides but this is my second favourite park.
When it comes to a wave pool I have never experienced better but its the rest of the park thar brings it down for me and it's the same old story money making over customers experience or it certainly looks that way.
When you enter the park there are lockers $10 or $15 each for the day now the park is really busy its 11.00 o a Friday but no issue 2 lockers between 5 of us meant the $15 lockers. From there the chance of getting a seat let alone a sunbed was non existent so plenty of the stuff you pay for not so much the "free" stuff and to be honest for the amount of people that are coming in there was no chance of a lot of people getting a seat there just wasn't enough space. Finally we "found" 3 chairs put out stuff down and went for food and refillable mugs. First stall no refillable mugs left and only 1 hot dog really its 11.00. Eventually found chicken tenders half way round the park. If you want a light meal buy the kids meals 2 chicken tenders, small fries, cookies and a bottle of water for $2 less than the adult meal 4 chicken tenders small fries.
The lazy river was so packed it didn't move that's after you Eventually find a ring once again the numbers don't add up.
Without the wave pool I wouldn't give this place 3 stars but its that good it earned the park 2 extra stars. Probably overly busy as blizzard beach is still closed. That seems like a poor bit of planning having a water park closed during the height of summer but what do I know. I think I'll give it a miss for the rest of this trip.

How can this experience be improved? Disney can train their staff regarding manners. On arrival at Typhoon Lagoon the lady (loose term) demanded ‘open your box’. My husband lifted the lid of our cooler to be barked at ‘underneath’ in reference to what was below our sandwiches and chips. There was no’please, thankyou or have a nice day’. What has happened to Disney staff?
My main gripe is Disneys greed however. They are operating a two tier system. Those who can afford the entry fee as opposed to those who pay extra to get nicer sun beds and umbrellas if you are prepared to pay more. Large swathes of the park have been handed over to the financially elite whilst the minions fry under the Florida skies.
Lastly, having been going to Disney for 30 years you see the decline. A lot of the fun water jets around the lazy river were off, the stranded boat on the mountain doesn’t spout water and the shark lagoon (which closed in 2016) has been replace with sand, sun beds and no imagination. Walt would be dismayed. Umbrellas would be appreciated for these cheap seats up the back!

I think my review pretty much mirrors those given by others previously. This water park is very hard to beat. I’ve yet to visit ‘Volcano Bay’ but when I do so next week, it will have to be special to top ‘Typhoon Lagoon’.

The setting is what once was a tropical paradise, destroyed at the hands of a typhoon. A Shrimp boat known as ‘Miss Tilly’ lies upside down on ‘Mount Mayday’, which erupts with a water geyser every so often. All over the island there are the remains of boats, equipment and surfing gear. Disney have done wonders in creating this scene.

As for the running of the park, it was pristine. Every member of staff I spoke with was polite. They were happy, friendly and it seemed to rub off on the guests! It really makes such a difference.

We managed to get on a lot of rides. I highly recommend the ‘Humunga Kowabunga’ if you’re a thrill seeker, the ‘Banana Blaster’ for a bit of fun and the highlight, the 12 foot ‘Wave Pool’. I don’t think you’ll experience many like it around the world - the adrenaline rush when the wave pushes through is something else!

Final recommendations - invest in the Souvenir Cup (free refills and if it’s hot, you’ll need them), top up your sun protection regularly (you are highly exposed to it) and, use the lockers provided for valuables (it puts your mind at ease).

We bought tickets with the water park option included. On 8/5, we left Magic Kingdom at 11 and headed to the hotel to get ready for an afternoon at the water park. We arrived to find that the park was at capacity. We were turned away and told to "walk around Disney Springs" (in our swimsuits?) or "come back in 3 hours" to check the status. We were told there was no way to call or check in the app. Just come back and try again. While I appreciate that Disney has capacity limits on their parks, I am frustrated with the lack of communication with guests regarding the closure. The technology is there....they are able to send me an alert in the app saying that I'm near a quick service restaurant and should place a mobile order. I don't understand why they choose not to alert guests to a park closure. We lost at least 2 hours of our day and were stuck with nothing to do because it was 12:30 and too early to park hop. We could have been more flexible except for our dinner reservations that we had to make 60 days in advance. Disappointing for all as that was our last full day and it ended up a total stressful mess.

Having disappointing experiences at the main Disney theme parks we were pleasantly surprised to have a relaxing and fun day here.

The mood instantly starts well when you see a near empty parking lot and best of all - no parking charge!! During our week’s stay in Orlando in early March there had been a thunder storm everyday so the weather was somewhat unpredictable but thankfully by the time the thunderstorm came on the day of our visit to the waterpark we had decided we wanted to go anyway. But that was fine - it was around 2pm but the park wasn’t busy at all and so we actually managed to do everything on offer and have a very fun time doing so too.

This waterpark isn’t as good or thrilling as Blizzard Beach which we had done on a previous trip to Disney but it does offer something different and I would say is probably more suited to young families/ tweens as the majority of the slides were somewhat tame and majestic.

The wave pool however was the absolute highlight. We’ve never seen waves so big and exhilarating. Lots of fun but very powerful. Don’t underestimate how deep the water goes and how powerful the wave pool is.

We had a wonderful time here: maybe our best experience of the trip. We had a cabana. It was $350 put come with free drinks all day and the ability to order less expensive family style meals, so with 6 people it almost paid for itself. The service wasn’t great. We never saw our attendant unless we called and even then it took a while, which is very different than the service at Volcano Bay, which was wonderful. Without the cabana though shady seating is hard to find. If you get there right at 9:50 you can ride 3-4 rides before the lines get long. Some of the rides were closed. Others had bit patches of peeling paint, so the park could really use some updates.

Typhoon Lagoon was so much fun! The lazy river was the best and my daughter and husband enjoyed the thrill rides, including the Typhoon Lagoon itself. It was very hot there but plenty of places to cool off. I don’t have pics to share unfortunately, because unless you have a waterproof pack for your phone, it’s best to store it in the lockers provided at the front. Many talked about taking your own towels. At $2 a rental, I didn’t think traveling with a towel was necessary, but it’s a choice for sure. Also I’d previously read complaints about the way some guests were dressed and ruining the family-type atmosphere by doing so. I totally disagree. Yes there were some thongs but so what! I just explained to my 10 year old that some people dress that way and we don’t. Simple. Certainly not worth ruining a fun day out. Disney still had their game tight and if you are considering it, go. You will enjoy!

Always like visiting Typhoon lagoon. I was on the point of being out voted by the rest of my family who wanted to go to Blizzard beach luckily for me it’s currently closed and despite driving past a man made volcano nobody had clocked Universal’s latest water park. We all had a really great day at Typhoon lagoon and even a brief half hour shower in the afternoon didn’t dampen (I know) our enthusiasm. There is enough here whether you just want a relaxing chill out day or if you want the rush of a few rides it’s also here. May be getting a bit dated in some peoples eyes but for me it’s still number 1. Shame the price has risen so much over the years. $300 for a family of four just for entry is getting a little greedy imho

We decided to go here rather than get a lyft taxi to Volcano bay, at this time Blizzard Beach is shut and thought of ease we would try Typhoon Lagoon due to the ease of getting there via a transfer at Disney Springs.

The park was very clean with staff waiting to welcome you in with loud music and dances which set the theme to the day which was positives.

Plenty of beds we had one near the front of the wave pool, I would recommend getting in early to ensure a decent spot.

Buy a refillable drinks cup as it was $11.99 and it’s worth every Penny with lots of stations near to the restaurants.

Wave pool was the big hit and plenty of room, the other kids slides were also great and we managed miss falls ride as well.

A great day out and if you are staying at a Disney resort definitely come here!
