Visiting this castle, seeing the artist's quirky sense of humorous art, and eating a great meal in" the boat-in-the-moat" , made for a fun filled day. I honestly believe that these pieces of art will be considered very important in the American art scene of the 20th-21st centuries. We were privileged to see the art up close and with the... More

Although it is a bit of a ride, the castle and restaurant are well worth it. I've been to the castle many times now, and it's always so much fun to wander the grounds, and enjoy such great food. Elaine is an amazing cook, hostess and the tours are the best. I can't decide which, so will strongly suggest either... More

Such an interesting place to visit; amazing. Don't miss this. But be sure to have a full tank of gas; nearest gas station is 17 miles away. It's in the middle of "somewhere". Food is ok, not great, but you could also bring a picnic.

The artist who built this castle had more creative juices than most. The castle is built of aluminum printing plates and has over 60 custom designed and created stained glass windows. The interior of the castle is full of hand made treasures from junk or spare parts. A slew on the property hold a hand made wooden ship which houses... More

Come see the amazing ingenuity of this castle creation! Constructed of repurposed materials. The boat without a moat is also his creation as well. Great tour with nice homemade meal on grounds.

My wife Gloria and I had the pleasure of touring the Solomon's Castle property recently and were both amazed at the treasures hidden here deep in the woods northeast of Arcadia. Although its out-of-the-way location even confused our GPS a bit, it's well worth the effort and nominal cost to view the incredible artworks produced by the late eccentric artist... More

Hello Donald & Gloria, I'm a little confused by the low rating. It sounds like you two had a terrific time and I so appreciate the kind words. Maybe it was an accident. If so I was wondering if you have the ability to edit and award us more bubbles? Hey I can't help asking, since you were so complimentary.... More

We drove for just over an hour from our home to see this spot out in the middle of nowhere-- yet tourists manage to find it! It was sad to find out that Solomon passed away last year, but it's nice that this spot is still open. It's quiet and wherever you look there's something tucked away to see. Tours... More

The castle is well worth the trip (about 1 1/2 hours from St. Petersburg.) Solomon wrote the script for the tour, and his quirky humour keeps you chuckling even as you are amazed by his ingenuity and talent. Unfortunately, the restaurant was a bust for me. When I told the waitress I was gluten free, she replied, "So you just... More

I had been wanting to visit Solomon's Castle since we first heard about it. It was better than what I had expected! The drive took us through orange grove after orange grove until we finally arrived. I would recommend arriving when they open. You can't just wander through the castle - you must take the tour. The tour groups of... More
