Just a great place

I've been walking, enjoying the scenery as well as the wildlife in this park for years. So beautiful, so peaceful. Great place to make the world go away.

We went on a pontoon boat with friends to see the Manatees. There were hundreds of them and they are very friendly. Try to go during the week when there are fewer folks out as it can get super crowded and busy on weekends swimmers and kayakers. There are many companies that take tours. We were lucky to go with... Great nature to enjoy , very quiet , many birds to watch , guided boat rides where guests could travel around the spring on a vessel with a clear bottom in order to view life underwater. This is Florida’s first tourist attraction and one of the largest artesian springs in the world.

a three hour kayak tour is not enough time to take in this beautiful river. It is crystal clear with lots of nature.

Silver Spring State Park was very informative. They offer glass bottom boat tours of the springs, very educational.

I would highly recommend you renting a Canoe or kayak and spend the day just watching all the wildlife. The water is crystal clear and just beautiful. Definitely worth the trip.

Loved taking our canoe down the river and seeing all the wildlife. We saw monkeys, birds, gators and a black bear. A once in a life time experience.

One of my favorite places to kayak. Unspoiled Florida as it used to be. Pristine water. Lots of wildlife, but stay clear of the monkeys. You can look up the history of the monkeys in the area. Makes for an interesting read. Enjoy!

Although pollution and excessive groundwater pumping have somewhat diminished these treasures, Silver Springs and the Silver Springs run are still magical windows into the real Florida. At Silver Spring and on the river run, it's easy to think of yourself as a time traveler, from the first explorers discovering the region and its fountains of youth, to 1930s vacationers seeking...
