This beach doesn’t disappoint, which is probably why we find it more crowded than what we typically prefer. If you are a seasoned traveler and have access to a boat, you might want to try North Captiva or Cayo Costa, same great west-facing Gulf views...More

very relaxing, beautiful to look at and drive by. be careful when driving, many bicyclists here for some reason will take the entire lane rather than just the side of the lane and block you at a low rate tieing up lines of traffic

Always wanted to experience Captiva and Sanibel islands. The beaches are very clean, they are not quite as powder soft like longboat key but they have more shells. Children might want water shoes to avoid shells on tiny feet. Captiva has a cute tiny town,...More

You feel like you are in a different country. Very relaxing beach, clean water (as long as there is no red tide) and lots of shells. If you want to relax, read a book, get a tan or run/ride a bike.... this is the beach...More

This is a stunning island, everywhere is beautiful! The shelling along captiva and sanibel is so interesting. The secret is to get there early. There is a big car park in Sanibel and a smaller one in Captiva, next to the beach pub. The little...More

Do go for the sunset, it’s beautiful. Parking by the beach is challenging so be prepared for a bit of a walk. Lots of seashells, plus pelicans diving for fish.

Not great weather but lovely beach. Sand soft and white. Loads of shells to search for, and sundowners at sun set a must.

It changes from day to day. I have a renter on the Island this week. Saturday was awful, today was OK. Conditions can change in a few hours depending on tide and wind direction.
