I'm lucky enough to live a few miles from this amazing nature area. Nationally known for birding. Varied ecosystems from pine forests, swamp, two river systems and easy access. Not crowded. An interesting information center and meeting room near main entrance. Worth a visit.

A great place to go for the day or just an hour. Playground for the kids, picnic areas, pavilions for parties, hiking and bike trails and camping too. Clean, well kept, fun and safe place for everyone.

This is a very nice park to walk or drive through. Also, if you like to bike or pack a snack it makes for a very enjoyable day. If you like to keep records of your travel actives don't forget your camera.

Primitive camping spots with a couple of real basic cabins great for groups that have bathrooms near by. Great place for kids birthday parties, group picnic/events. Great chance to see various critters... More

We visited this place during our vacation in New Port Richey, We first struggled to find the right path when we got there (probably our own fault as we did not care for a map) but eventually, we enjoyed the experience taking a leisurely stroll on the bicycle path. I commonly ride through the park via bicycle, walk the dirt trails, or walk the main trails. It is well maintained and always something interesting to find.
