Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary is a 13,000 acre Preserve. The Sanctuary is open daily from 7-5:30 with last admission at 4:30 pm. Visitors will find a gentle, pristine wilderness that dates back more than 500 years. A 2.25 mile boardwalk meanders through pine flatwoods, wet prairie, around a marsh and finally into the largest old growth Bald Cypress forest in North America. These impressive trees, relatives of the redwood, tower 130 feet into the sky and have a girth of 25 feet. Their massive branches are draped with mosses, lichens, bromeliads and ferns. The forest is also home to alligators, otters, white-tailed deer and red-bellied turtles. A wide variety of wading birds, songbirds, raptors and the fabulous Painted Bunting can be seen throughout the year. Photo opportunities are available at every turn of the boardwalk trail.

A boardwalk over the swamp through a natural habitat for all kinds of wildlife. A peaceful nature walk. Bring water and sunscreen and don't feed the alligators! ;)

This is a 2.5 walking trail, on a wooden boardwalk. Places to sit (some covered) along the way, to watch the scenery. The old cypress trees are awesome! Lots of wildlife to see (alligators, butterflies, birds, deer, etc.). We spent about 2 hours on a...More

We stumbled across Corkscrew swamp when researching places to visit in the Everglades. A boardwalk takes you out across the swamp and into the heart of the natural environment where you see a whole variety of wildlife and plants. Well worth a visit

We visited here while on vacation in Naples. We found it to be one of the coolest experiences! We came across one of the largest alligators we've ever seen in the wild. There were plenty of birds and other wild animals as well! We were...More

The boardwalk makes a nice spot for an hour of walking (of if you're sheltering for the rain & thunder, two hours). There are some educational points and we did see three gators from a far. To bad we were sheltering under a sun screen...More

Nice trail through flooded Cyprus swamps. Kids enjoyed it too. The boardwalk makes for a nice even path especially for older hikers

Two photographer friends and I recently walked the 2+ mile boardwalk at Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary. It was my first time. I really did not know what to expect. This was a hit and I look forward to many return trips in spite of the $14...More

Yes, with supervision. The boardwalk has a railing throughout but as we've seen kids can sometimes overcome barriers if they're determined and not supervised. You might call the sanctuary for further guidance but I didn't... More

Not sure you really need one as they have volunteers stationed around the boardwalk that will help with sightings. They also offer tours. If you contact them they may have some independent guides they work with.
