This week my sister and I were lucky enough to experience the mount dora canal tour with this company. The boat was great , and Captain Steve was an outstanding guide, with lots of information about the local area and the wildlife we encountered. Captain Steve went "overboard", not literally, to make this trip an incredible time for one 4... More

My husband and I brought a group of 14 people on the 2-hour Dora Canal ride, and it was outstanding! Because the boat has seating on both sides, as well as the middle, we could walk around to get good photos... better than sitting in rows of seats. We immediately saw gators (and they had a special place to take... More

We have been on this tour 3 times with out of town guests. We have had three different Captains and they were all wonderful. We saw alligators, bald eagle nest, herons, egrets, and a limpkin that actually made its call! Sounded like we were in a Tarzan movie! We will definitely go again with any of our future visitors!!

Captain Steve took us out, even though there were no other guests. He was very knowledgeable and articulate. Ask questions and he'll know the answer. Nice views, wildlife, and homes.

We took the two hour trip at 3pm on a sunny afternoon with Captain Steve and Robert. A dynamic duo! Lake Dora was a great place to see eagles and osprey and their nests and other birds. They spot them and share their binoculars and pause so you can take pictures. Nice!! But the best was the trip down the... More

Mike and Rob made this one of the most informative and exciting boat rides we have ever taken. We saw beautiful homes, foliage, alligators, eagles, herons, flamingos and ibis. We were treated to a narrative that included the history of Lake Dora, the canal system connecting the many lakes, why the many birds made the lake shore home, and the... More

I highly recommend the Dora Canal Tour led by Captain Mike. This two hour tour through Lake Dora and the Dora Canal is a great way to experience some of Central Florida's natural treasures, including alligators, turtles, bald eagles, and numerous other species of birds and the wonderful cypress and other plants. Also a nice way to see majestic lake... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending the afternoon on Lake Dora and traveling through the canal with The Rusty Anchor. Our guides were knowledgeable and personable. The pontoon, although able to travel with a greater number of passengers, was maxed by the company at about 18. This smaller number allowed for everyone to see the wildlife (bald... More

The 1 hour tour with Captain Mike was a perfect activity for the morning before lunch. Captain Mike was an excellent guide providing blankets when the ride got chilly and binoculars to see the amazing wildlife along the way. He gave history and information about the sites along the way and stopped when appropriate to look at an alligator and... More
