Stumbled upon this treasure quite by accident when I pulled off I-75 to gas up. Saw the signs for 'Historic Micanopy', followed them & ran into this beautiful spot. Before I even stopped to get out & wander around, noticed piles of cat crunchies on...More

Don’t leave Micanopy without spending time to walk through the old cemetery. Tall trees, Spanish Moss, and serenity as you spend time in the cemetery. Be sure and ask for directions or you spend time wandering about the town. You will find grave sites going...More

Very interesting, yet eerie cemetery. Some of the stones have eroded so you can’t read them... yet some are still perfectly legible. It’s always interesting to see all the old families buried together as well. Many headstones date back to the late 1800s and early...More

A short walk thru this cemetary shows grave sites from mid 1800s to present with many civil war headstones and family plots.

We were just travelling through and saw the cemetery. It is quiet, peaceful and quaint. It has beautiful spanish moss trees and interesting headstones. It is difficult to review a cemetery....

To get there exit off I-75 at rt 234, turn right onto Seminary Ave. The cemetery is on the right, about a mile down the road. Continue on Seminary to the "downtown" where the shops and restaurants are.

This was a very nice cemetery. My friends and I walked around for well over an hour. There was a lot of history and opportunities to recollect. As an added bonus, it is nicely shaded!

As far as cemeteries go, this one doesn't stand out above others of approximately the same age. Not far away from the main downtown area, this cemetery doesn't hide its age. That's not a bad thing. It's clean, although it requires little maintenance. The ground...More
