The walk on the boardwalk gave a calmer side of the area and access to less crowded beaches. We did not walk the whole way and caught a free trolley

I ran 5 miles of the boardwalk during a recent trip in the early November evening. The boardwalk offers cool views of some exclusive hotels and a nice bike-free place to stroll or run.

Although the hot & humid weather can be very challenging from a runner visiting from cold climates, the Boardwalk is a great place to do a morning run. Many cats looking for their morning meal seem to agree.

Love to go jogging on the board walk and you can get down all the way and pass all the beautiful hotels. Here you see so many different people - fun watching them all. A must for every visitor in South Beach.

On backside (or shall I say frontside) of the beach front hotels it is a fantastic place to start the day before breakfast, or before going to beach!

Your best bet would be the hotels on Collins Avenue. Most of them have a back access to the beach and the boardwalk for a nice morning stroll. Also if you want to stay in a shopping area, you need to be close to Lincoln Rd... More
