About
Agustin Gainza Arts and Tavern is widely known as Taberna del Pintor. A new concept in Little Havana offering wine, tapas, and live music. A unique ambiance in Miami's Historic Calle 8 district, with the main protagonist Agustin Gainza. A South Florida art scene staple for over 15 years, Gaínza Art Gallery now transforms it's space serving small platters, lite bites and Gainza's famous Mojito. Now, you can admire the art of Agustín Gaínza, while you enjoy a glass of wine. His trajectory spans across more than 4 decades dedicated to drawing, etchings, ceramics and his constant medium, painting. He has exhibited in galleries in the United States, Europe and the Carribean, including his native country, Cuba. His work can also be found in both private and public collections. Since 1979, Gaínza lives in the city of Miami and in 2001, he established Gaínza Art Gallery, both a gallery and his personal studio, in Calle 8. Agustin Gainza Arts and Tavern brings a magical creative and artistic flavor to the heart of Little Havana.

Stopped here during a food tour of Little Havana. Mr. Galnza is an excellent and welcoming artist. He produces products in a range of styles and prices. It is great to have a combination artist studio and Tavern.

Fantastic art studio on Calle Ocho. Señor Gainza is wonderful with his vibrant use of colors in his multi-media creations -- from traditional prints to wall decor to light fixtures. We had the pleasure of visiting him and his wife at the studio where we were warmly welcomed and truly impressed. And yes, this is a tavern. Señor Gainza was working when we entered and stopped to take a turn behind the bar and mix our mojitos himself. Best mojito ever.
This is definitely worth a stop on any Little Havana tour, whether you're part of a group or exploring alone. Highly recommended.

If you like refined Art this is the place to go on Calle 8!
Agustin is so humble. I wanted to take all of his artwork home. Everything is so precious.
If I ever make it again to Miami I will definitely visit again!

Agustin and his wife were so welcoming and kind when my daughter and I wandered into the cafe to escape from a really bad bus tour. We fell in love with his art and enjoyed hearing the story of how their gallery transformed into a cafe. It's unusual to find an artist sitting right there at the front of his gallery, painting! I wish I'd had more time to spend there and will definitely go back if I return to the area.

It is small and cozy, but with plenty of seating for about 40. I went with a group of friends all couples except for me and did not feel weird at all. There were other tables of girlfriends and a few savvy tourists. Everyone had a great time. The tapas are delicious and so are the wines offered. The ambiance and music fantastic and the owners are constantly coming to the tables and attentive to the comfort and enjoyment of their guests. Would definitely recommend.

The first stop on my Little Havana Food Tour. This place is a unique little art gallery with food. They have a lot of different things to try and the art and backstory to the owner was interesting to say the least.

Agustin is a talented artist who brings his artistic ability to his drink making. He makes the best mojito in LIttle Havanna. The lime ice cubes made for a tasty drink.

This is a small art gallery on South West 8th Street - the Main Street of the Little Havana area of Miami - with delightful pieces of Cuban art. The artist is in residence at the gallery. You can watch him work! I purchased one of his pieces.
His wife is in charge of the small bar area, where you can get a drink and sit at one of the tables to admire the art. There is also a cabinet in which there are several types of wine bottles available for sale. I bought 3 bottles to bring back home to California - two bottles were from
Spain and one from Italy. My husband works for a winery in Sonoma, so I was pleased to try a few of the wines from Spain and Italy.
This is a small gallery with big art; and, well worth the time to visit.

This location was our meeting point for the Little Havana Food and Walking Tour where we met the artist. He has an incredible story and an amazing talent. His artwork is expressive and bold; I became an instant fan. We are so happy to be able to purchase a couple of unique pieces to add to our art collection from our travels. Mr. Gainza and his wife were down-to-earth and humble; we are glad to have met them.
