Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This is the major route to Miami Beach, a very long bridge that will take you across the bay harbor and along the way you will enjoy some great views of the skylines of both cities.

This causeway is really cool! Either at day or night, you get beautiful views of the city and the ocean! Be aware there's traffic during rush hour, but other than that, for sure you should take it once!

London has the Big Ben. Paris has the Eiffel Tower. Rome has the Colliseum.

Many cities boast an iconic structure to represent itself to the rest of the world. And so does the Magic City! And, to be honest, what better symbol for Miami than a bridge?

Miami may be considered a city of bridges but MacArthur Causeway Bridge seems to elegantly sum up all the vibe of lovely Miami.

Completed in 1920, Miami’s golden age.

The views from the bridge are simply striking!

Loved it!

This nice-looking General Douglas MacArthur Causeway is one of several bridges that connect downtown Miami with the city of Miami Beach. It is a six-lane beam bridge crossing over the Biscayne Bay.

We stayed in Miami Beach, and crossed this 3.5 mile bridge span almost every day – either by the tour buses, the Duck boat, taxis or Uber – whenever we had to go to Miami. Some days we saw lines of massive Cruise Ships on one side, and Star Island, Palm Island and Hibiscus Island on the other side. The views of the Miami skyline along the Biscayne Bay are drop dead gorgeous – especially at sunset. So glad somebody else was driving so we could thoroughly enjoy those superb views.

One of our tour guides informed us that the underside of this bridge was dangerously corroded from years of salt spray from the jet skis. All the problem areas are now fixed, but the traffic was a nightmare while the fixing was taking place.

Go on it at least once to take in the scenery.

I have driven back and forth this Causeway many hundreds of times, easily into the thousands. This was always a busy place, but not what it is now. I actually remember people parking on the sides of this road and actually fish right there for hours at a time and no one would bother them. I don't think you can even stop here for any reason any more. I'm a bit disappointed that Dade County has not widened this road at least another two lanes and made the Miami Beach access easier than it is today.

This is a very nice ride between the city and the beach. Helps if you are not driving and can enjoy a spectacular view of the city skyline or the lovely bay water with the islands. And there is the skyline for Miami Beach.

The MacArthur Causeway is the main road linking the downtown area and the port of Miami to the South Beach area. Nice to see the houses and boats.

The MacArthur causeway bridge connects Miami and Miami Beach. It's a fastest way to reach either of them - crossing it many times I've never saw traffic jams on it.
Beside that, of tourist interest are views while driving it.
When heading to Miami Beach on your right side is the Dodge island where's the port of Miami. If it's a sailing day you'll see 5,6 mega cruisers docked there, what is an outstanding scene.
When driving to Miami you'll be rewarded with terrific Miami skyline panorama, as well the rich houses islands of Palm, Star and Hibiscus on your right.
The bridge is toll free.
