This has become a frequent event for my family. The wetlands are a beautiful collection of flying, crawling and swimming Florida wildlife. It is convenient to visit and had no entrance fees, the last time I visited. There is place for donations to help sustain...More

A favorite place and a haven for all sorts of birds and wild life. New homes are being built and encroaching on this wild area - This is a tragedy!

I have visited this preserve twice, once in March and once in August. I highly recommend the cooler months!! Very buggy! We saw all types of birds--very fascinating. Even though there are tons of warnings, we never saw a gator. There is a drive that...More

While trying to burn a few hours between baseball games we ventured out to the wetlands. We saw some interesting birds as well as 5 alligators. It’s an easy, free outing

The nice thing about this park is that if its cold or rainy (like the day we were there), you can stay in your car and open windows when you want. There were plenty of birds there and raccoons, and gators. We were in the...More

This is a great place to go for bird and nature watching. Depending on the time of year you go you can see alligators, and various local and migrating birds.

The area was nice and I'm sure there is a lot to see, but we were expecting to drive around and it was roped off, so we only hiked a little bit before we got too hot. Worth it if want to hike, but we...More

It’s been raining lately, so the roads have been closed to driving, and only open for walking or biking. None of the observation decks were available to walk up, and there is only one place to sit at only one of the stops with a...More

Took kiddos on a gator hunt. We seen so many animals and birds. Only three Gators but one was eating a crane so that was interesting and educational. The kids enjoyed it and they have plenty of areas to stop for a break.

Alligators are always there but not always visible. Depends on time of year, air and water temperature. Sunny days when water is cooler the siting are more numerous.
