Our group of friends was taken by Bear paw workers to Hinson creek to put in. My kayak started to fill up with water and it sank and I flipped. I called bear paw for assist to see if they would come pick me up but instead they told me to drain the water out. I did so and paddled... More

Went with a few friends floating down the river. Even though there weren't really any rapids, we still had a great time. Just be careful because some of the rocks are closer then they appear. Should take about 3-4 to get down river.

We had a great time. The staff was quite nice and the price was reasonable. No problem parking. We visited on a busy Saturday before school starts, so there were a lot of people out. They had more than ample equipment to handle all of us. We rented the basic black tubes and floated along. The following items are beyond... More

I imagine this really is a great place to float when the river is higher. It's not the fault of the float company that the river was low. There was A LOT of people wanting to get on the river, it was a very hot day and the temperatures of the staff and customers were running high. The ladies handling... More

Wow we did this for friends birthday party, 31 people floated down the river. We read there reviews about them being bossy. We think to organize everyone with there Ice Chest they have to be bossy. All in all it was a wonderful time Thanks for the fun

This was our teenagers first time canoeing and they really enjoyed it, we will be back for sure. They have all of the fun water rentals that you could want.

Kept trying to find out how much a canoe rental costs...their phone service forwards to their cell phone...which was awful service. Kept getting cut off. When I finally got in touch with someone (they called back), their canoe rental was $40, JUST to do Sping Creek for the rest of day (after 2pm). I told them never mind.... I can... More

We used Bear Paw on July 7, 2016 to shuttle us to the Hinson drop off location. The gentleman in the store was very polite and very helpful. We wanted to be dropped off at the Yancey location but the boat ramp was being repaired by the county. However, that didn't stop us and our fun filled day. The shuttle... More

I can't believe I lived in FL for so many years and never heard of this place. It was the most enjoyable day that I have had in a very long time. The cost of renting a tube is $15.00 and you get 4-5 hours of tubing. The water is clean and I felt at one with nature. The only... More
