The now destroyed plantation is located with a gated community of Key Marco. The security will let you in but they do take your drivers licences info but you enter. About 1 1/2 miles down a nicely landscaped private drive with some homes probably starting...More

A pleasant drive to see how the "other half" (more like 1%!) lives. Being so sheltered there is a good chance you'll see raccoons during the day as well as gopher tortoises.

Homes in here are amazing, we were looking for the gopher turtles which were supposed to be abundant but never saw one there. They can be seen at other places on the island as well as burrowing owls.
